I just finished watching to video on yahoos main page. The hit and run. It is completely DISGUSTING that people can just drive by and pay no attention to the man lying, bleeding on the road! Even the person that hit him just drove away! What is this world coming to?

  1. We do not live in a perfect world, and never will. These horrible things happen because the others around are either scared to take action, worried it will cause them trouble, or they just don't care. We can only help this by helping others as much as we can, and not do things like this. I can feel the anger/sadness you feel as well.

  2. I was really disgusted the first day I saw it.  I still am, but less so because now I'm remembering that people that help other people in or near streets are OFTEN hit by other cars (drunk and not).  Then there's the lawsuit factor.  Lots of people these days are sued by "victims" when helping people or defending themselves.  Move him wrong & you find yourself in court.  Then there's the fear of AIDS, Hepatitis, etc.  It's d**n dangerous to help people nowadays.  The person that hit him should receive a harsher penalty than they actually will (IF they're caught).  Then there's the psycho factor.  It's not relevant to this situation, but in a large percentage of the situations out there that you think someone needs "help," there's a person who's drunk, on drugs, or mentallly ill, that might decide you're the enemy when you try to help.  I've experienced that one.

  3. That is one of the most heartless things I have ever seen.  When they catch that guy, and they will, he will be serving some major time in jail.  Some people are heartless.  A friend of mine witnessed in Brooklyn a man about to jump off a building.  What did the people do... they kept telling him to jump.  *******.

  4. My sister was also hit by a car on Febrauary 13, 2008 and she just feel down and nobody cared. The car just drove away and it was a hit-and-run and this person who knows my cousin knows my parents (my parents have a flower shop 2 blocks away and our house is a block away from where the accident happened) and  so the guy brought my 2 sisters to my parents shop and notice this was a day before Valentines and my father rushed to the hospital with my sister and the other one was fine!

    You know whats really crazy?

In school the next day, EVERYONE knew about this and no, she wasn't on TV and yea.......................

People probably have to get home to their families and maybe they don't want to be with the police for investigations for like 2 hours.

They don't want to be a witness rather run away with the rest and pretend nothing ever happened!

    Its so sad, I know!

  5. I hope everyone of those people that drove by or stood around that man in Connecticut without helping him have NIGHTMARES about it for years to come. And if you're one of them, reading this message, I mean YOU.

  6. i know!!! people were just walking on down the street without a care in the world!!it's horrible!

  7. Like everything else that has happened since 2000, it must be George Bush's fault. Just ask any democrat.

  8. I saw that video on Digg.

It seems really shocking, but the fact is I did something similar once.  I was driving a big truck and I witnessed an accident occur about 60 feet in front of me.  There was a collision and an automobile smashed into a cement abutment.  Several people pulled their cars over, got out, and rushed to help the person in the wrecked car.  I pulled over, looked at the scene for about 15 seconds, then decided that I could do nothing to help and drove away.

  9. Sad Sad Sad

  10. Society has sold their souls to the highest bidder.

  11. The people of Connecticut must be a very uncaring bunch when you consider 10 cars drove past, people walked by, one even took a photograph, a scooter rider did turn round only to get a second look and one car coming in the opposite direction even did a U turn to avoid seeing it. and that's not counting the car that hit him and did not stop to help.May God forgive them all.

  12. This is not a new phenomenon. Read up on the Kitty Genovese case sometime. In 1964, there were 38 witnesses to the murder of a young woman, and nobody got involved.

  13. I didn't see it, I don't get my news from yahoo.
