What the h**l was I thinking? Is Jedi power real?

Lot of times, i do something & later I ask myself, what the h**l was I thinking. I just can't explain the stupid decisions I made in the past. I just cannot believe that I could make such a mistake. This has to be the result of a Jedi master using his/her power over me, isn't it? Is it possible to block myself against the force?

  1. Uh, you know those stupid decisions you're talking about?

Posting this question was another one.

  2. maybe...in a galaxy far away

  3. Hmmm...  That's a tough one!

Jedi power is quite real, it's "the Force" but it's something you can harness and use for your own purposes, not something one can hold over you.

Is your question "Why do I do stupid things that I later regret?"

Carl Jung probably understood it best, with his analysis of the complexes we operate out of.

    A complex is:

A group of associated ideas having a common, strong emotional tone. These ideas are largely unconscious and significantly influence attitudes and associations.

In psychology, a group of related, often repressed ideas and impulses that compel characteristic or habitual patterns of thought, feelings, and behavior.

So, How can you tell if you're operating out of a complex?  You can't, when you operate out of a complex, you are unaware of it.  The moment you recognize it as a complex, it begins to shift.  Some common characteristics of a complex are that you seem to keep running into the same set of circumstances, and draw the same kind of person to you (for instance, in a relationship)  A complex can seek to fulfill something you find lacking in yourself through another person, (eg: Knight on white horse) can fulfill a need (ie: "Daddy Complex"  caretaker of you) can fulfill a belief you have about yourself, (worthless, not good enough = abusive relationships with partners who reinforce those feelings, beat, yell, or bellittle you) or can fulfill a belief you have about the world around you. (You draw friends to you who always take advantage, stand you up, dissapoint you, or abandon you.)

In each case, these people are "magnetized to you" through unconscious behaviors, and energy patterns.  (Why do men/women ALWAYS...)

So, these complexes can also affect your own behavior, leaving you later saying "Why did I do something dumb like that again, that was just weird!"  Sometimes, you can almost see yourself doing it, and yet, you just watch yourself do it...

Perhaps I gave a more serious reply than you were after with your "Jedi" question, but if you are interested in psychology at all, an interesting, easy, and fun read is: "Memories, Dreams, and Reflections" by C.G. (Carl) Jung.

If you get the light saber thing figured out, please email me.  I've been having problems with mine!
