Question:

What the ideal weight for long distance running??

For someone who is 6 feet tall... and by long distance running I mean around 2 miles.

  1. I'm 6 feet tall and I run anything from the 800 to the 5k

    I used to weigh around 130lbs but I'm now 140lbs and have gotten faster because it is all muscle, so a good weight is probably from 140 to 150 depending on your build.

    However, if you are training enough, weight should not be a problem


  2. by running you will gain muscle so weight may vary. it's hard to say. i don't think there is a set weight to be, as long as your not overweight.

  4. i dont think there is any ideal weight for this

    but i did hear that your Vo2 max (how much oxygen your body can take and make into effort) get less (weaker) if you weight more

    so its almost like comparing a lean guy and a buff guy

    but for your question, i would just try to be lean (meaning packed lean muscle)

    you want to be strong and at the same time be agile

  5. There is no right weight as long as you are in shape you could run that easy being tall doesn't really affect you to much. It all depends on the drive you have as an individual.
