I'm sure all the other answers are chock full of good music. But if you want to keep up, next time try Radio & Records and check their charts. They'll give you the top songs in several categories/genres.

you can goto some radio stations sites and listen to them live online.

1035kissfm.com is a band from chicago and plays a lot of rap, hip hop, R&B, a long with a few scattered rock songs.

iknowjack.com plays a lot of rock and such from the years. They don't take requests but just play what they want.

Why dont you find local american stations and find the top 10. Mtv.com usually posts the latest hits.

almost everything on the radio is overplayed and sucks anyways, your not missing much. loook on myspace top bands though maybe.
