What the main Canadian supermarket/grocery stores?

Where I live, they are Safeway, Superstore, Sobey's and Extra Foods.

It actually depends on the city. Nunavut doesn't have all of the stores that we have. But on average, the most common/main grocery stores are Sobeys (formerly known as IGA) and The Great Canadian Superstore. Costco can also be classified as one, but it is not as popular as Superstore and Sobeys. Co-Op is one, as well. Again, not as popular because of its high prices, but they do serve delicious fruit! :)

We have Food Basics, No Frills and Price Choppers. Loblaws, The Great Canadian Superstore, Sobeys, Dominion &Cosco's.

It really does depend on where you live.  Many areas have local supermarkets that are not found in the rest of the country.  The main big ones are Dominion, IGA, Loblaws, Sobeys, the Real Atlantic Superstore, Co-op, and the "no name" versions of some of those.  Costco of course is part of the picture.  Department stores such as Walmart and Zellers also sell groceries.

In British Columbia we have a lot of Save-On Foods and Overwaitea as well as Safeway.
