  1. You either win or you don't. Nearly is nowhere.. The fact of the matter is Irish fans have been victims to a  massive amount of hype in Ireland and I do actually feel sorry for them, that they seem to have got carried away by it. If Ireland were as good as they have been telling everyone - they would easily get out of their group.

  2. Ireland have always failed to live up to their talent on the big occasion.

Not sure what the reason is, but prior to the World Cup, they and South Africa was the only teams that I would expect to challenge New Zealand, due to their ability to turn over ball at lineouts and at the breakdown.

Ireland tend to perform how O'Driscoll performs and his injury prior to the World Cup seems to have had a big effect on their preparations.

  3. What have they been saying about Ronan O`Gara? I don`t know.

  4. they left their game back in Ireland and only came with a backup plan

  5. The Irish were on a high after the Six Nations because of their good performances, though this must be taken in context.  They were playing teams which were going through difficult times, so their victories ought to be seen as a little flattering to their players.

On top of this, because rugby is a very physical game, it's rare for a team to field the same squad of players for two matches running.  This makes it almost impossible to look back and use past performance to predict a match.

Finally, even in the Six Nations, France still beat them.

All in all, it shouldn't have come as such a surprise.

  6. nonenzedder is right. im from ireland and a rugby fan and i believed the hype. they are over rated. i reckon and honestly munster could have had a better world cup than ireland. also eddie o sullivan was exposed. he didnt have a game plan at all against france.

aother factor is that stupid national anthem. it wouldnt get me fired up especially after the spectalular french anthem.
