What the mother cat has based on symptoms?

she has: diarrhea, huge weight loss, and increase in appetite. she can eat up to 3 cans of friskies cat food a day. she has three kittens and feed them alot of milk. plz help.

  1. Honestly, my first instinct is to advise you to take her and the kittens to your vet. If she's sick, she could very well give it to the kittens.

She does need to see a vet, just to rule out anything serious.  However, diarrhea is fairly common in lactating cats because of hormonal changes.  Also, during lactation most cats lose quite a bit of weight and their food intake can quadruple during this time.  Make sure you feed her as much as she will eat.  You may consider getting some dry kitten food and keeping it available at all times, and continue giving her canned food as well.  I hope all of this information helps you.  Please get the kitty spayed as soon as she has weened her kittens.
