What the secrets to getting bluegrass seed to germinate.?

Planted 90% blue grass mix in the middle of June. The rye grass came in, but not a sprig of blue grass?

  1. I hope you used some rich soil. At this stage all you can do is make sure there is a good starter fertilizer on it.  Rye always comes in first - then burns off.   Water 20 min a zone every day then 1 hour a zone once or twice a week once established - this helps the root system establish itself deep in the soil.  


  2. Be more specific please. What prep work did you do before planting? What did you do after the grass seed was put down?
