I went to the doctor to get re-checked for STDs because it's been burning when I pee and I could have easily got something since the end of May when I got checked the first time. My doctor took a urine sample and then looked at me down there and said that my cervix looks normal and she didn't see any sores so she said it could be a bladder infection but that came back clear. She let me go. Why wouldn't she just check me for STDs?? It wouldn't be burning for no reason! Would a yeast infection be detected by the urine test? Could it be the soap I'm using or something? I'm just lost and scared because I know how serious STDs are when you're pregnant. Any ideas? Thanksss.

  1. obviously if you think there is a possibility of std's...then why are you sleeping with these people and putting your baby at harm...ewww

    good luck

  2. honey it could a number of things causing the burning. it could b a yeast infection or the soap like ya think but i would go back to doc and insist they check u for STDs

  3. B careful of who you or your partner sleeps with during pregnancy. Developing an STD while pregnant can cause harm to you and your unborn baby. ;( You could have a bladder infection and that is the most probable cause of burning during urination. Also, a UTI sometimes causess painful urination as well.. Good Luck!

  4. Well I'm sure your doctors is very well educated and checked you correctly for whatever you were concerned about if you shared that with them! But if you feel they are not accurate see another dr! It may have nothing to do with std's or an infection! It could just be that you are having an allergic reaction to your partners sperm, you are much more sensitive during pregnancy! Me and my husband are unable to even enjoy s*x right now because I get all itchy afterwords! Refrain from having s*x or ask your dr for another explanation!

  5. did they check you for UTI (urinary tract infection) ?  i know when i had UTI it hurt SOOO bad, and it made it almost impossible to let urine out.  It's easily treatable, so maybe instead of having STDs checked (although i think it was smart of you to do so anyways), go to your doctor and ask about getting checked for urinary tract infections or bladder and possibly yeast infection. i believe that there are over the counter tests to see if you have a yeast infection i've seen on commericals, i don't know exactly how they work probably urine though.  could be a number of things, i think the doctor you saw just didn't do a full examination of seeing what could be the cause, just out ruled one thing...

  6. I agree with some others...if you're so sure it could be an STD that means you're doing things you have no business doing being pregnant.  Your responsibility to your child began at conception, sleeping around is NOT responsible and if you aren't but the person you ARE sleeping with is...same thing!    Besides, don't you want to set a good example for your chid when they are born???  They grow up way too fast for you to be putting your needs above theirs.

  7. If you had a yeast infection you could pretty much tell by looking at it. It could be your soap- remember your hormones change like crazy during pregnancy and things that were fine before may be different now. It could be a UTI- I got one when I was pregnant and it really hurt I also thought I was in labor. It maybe could be something you are drinking that is burning you when you pee it out if it is high in acid- remember everything you drink. Be careful (anytime and esp. when your pregnant) of having unprotected s*x with different people or if your partner is not monogamous. Everyone that touches your body also touches your child.
