I saw the Queen Mary on vacation a while ago. How similiar is the Queen Mary and the Titanic in terms or size, layout, and so on? Some people told me that being on the Queen Mary is pretty much like being on the Titanic. I just wanted to see if this was true. I would like to spend the night on the Queen Mary somtime. The ship is amazing and Ive always wanted to be able to walk to Titanic just once, so I wanted to know if is the same.

  1. Queen Mary is newer, faster, and quite a bit bigger.  She is a historic vessel in her own right.

Both are luxury liners and both were extraordinary ships in their time.  They differ greatly in propulsion systems and in aspects of their layout.  They were also built for different shipping lines.

Titanic was the second of a class that eventually included three ships.  Queen Mary was the only ship of her class.

Titanic was completed in 1912, Queen Mary in the latter 1930s.

Both are elegant designs.  Both ships are beautiful in their own ways.  Both ships are British.

  2. Well one the Titanic sank and the Queen Mary 2 is still sailing so thats one major difference. Then I think that they are somewhat similar in size and have no clue on layout but the ships today have much more technology available then they did in 1912 so that is why the Titanic sank. Had they had the technology we did they would have seen that ice berg in my opinion.
