  1. everything has a different resonance frequency, it's the speed it starts vibrating and shaking at.

  2. The unit of frequency is always Hertz (in short Hz.) One Hertz is equal to one cycle per second. The unit of frequency has nothing to with Resonance.

  3. there are many different things that have a "resonance frequency" such as drumheads, guitar strings, suspension bridges.

The units are the same as units of just plain frequency, and the specific units will be more convenient to use one or another depending on the specific situation, however in all cases one can say in general that the units are "1 over TIME" which we call per second or per some other measure of time (hour, nanosecond).

We would probably choose the a time length (second, minute, hour, millisecond, nanosecond) to be one where the vibration happens between 1 and 99 times in that time interval to keep the numbers easy to remember

for example what it frequency of your heartbeat ? Well it is about 80 (beats) per minute so we use minutes as the time interval and divide the number of beats in one minute (80) by that length of time (1 minute) giving

    80 / (1 minute )  = ( 80 / 1 )  1/minute

The we have a special lingo for units of 1/minute which we call "per minute", so the frequency of the heart is 80 per minute. We don't write the word "beats" in the formula.

The word "beats" or "cycles" does not appear when we write formulas for frequency, but it is there in the number '1'

  4. Resonance is a condition where the excitation frequency is equal to the natural frequency of the system being excited. Resonance frequency therefore should be in the same unit as the natural frequency. It is normally expressed in cycles per unit of time. The unit Hertz means cycles per second.

  5. Hz (Hertz)
