  1. One theorie is that the ancient mythical island of Atlantis that is said to be under water,is going to rise once again in 2012.once we have hightened the earths frequency by simply opening up to love and working towards the good and teaching what we have learnt, spreading the word of god and understanding that everything and everyone is equal, and infact an aspect of the creator. The earth and everything inside  will evolve to a higher level, and we then will once again become closer to creating heaven on earth.LOVE &lLIGHT>

  2. that is the year that all global warmers vanish in a puff of smoke.

  3. A theory, in scientific usage, is an idea backed by enough evidence to be credible. It is not a wild-assed guess unsupported by evidence.

  4. --Reasonable theories--

NASA predicts that the sun will reverse its magnetic poles as it does at the end of each 11-year sunspot cycle.

    --End reasonable theroies--

Irrelevant things that will happen in 2012:

The Mayan calendar will run out of dates in its current Long Count cycle of approx 5125 years.  Several crackpot philosphers with an incomplete understanding of this calendar have suggested that the world will end on or about this time, since the previous three "creations," which the Maya believe to have been.  The current creation, however, was thought by the Maya to have been successful, so the end of the world does not necessairly apply.

But in the end the incorrectly interpreted beliefs about a calender of a people whose civilization colappsed of its own accord, had some other strange and irrational beliefs and are now extinct are pretty irrelevant, aren't they?

Things that wierd people will believe will happen in 2012:

Michael Drosnin believes, in his book 'The Bible Code' (based on a very selective misreading of hebrew versions of the Bible) that an asteroid will strike the Earth.  Since the nearest object to pass during that year, 433 Eros, will come no closer than 16.6 million miles, you can breathe easy.

  5. I heard on the history channel that some civilization predicted the end of the world on December 21, 2012
