  1. The best if the forehead one.  This one is the easiest to use.

    Then, the mouth armpit one.

I don't feel comfortable putting anything in my child's ear.

  2. in my experience as a nurse , ear thermometers are convenient but not very accurate; i would suggest underarm, with the right conditions, and if in question go rectal; as bad as it seems, it is the most accurate you can get on a sick baby...

  3. *Ear thermometers are most sensitive, but give erratic results unless you use them 100% correctly

*Underarm ones take forever but give more consistent readings

What I've done is bought an infra-red ear thermometer, but I use it under the arm... preblem solved!

Quick, accurate, consistent and reliable measurements every time! With out the fuss of a squirming child in the process!!

  4. I use the armpit one but it can get fiddly if your child is sick and they are squirming. The ear ones are good and very quick but are expensive and in my experience, need replacing often. I have seen a dummy-type one at the chemist but have never used it so dont know how effective it is. In theory, it would be good coz a sick child will probably like to suck for comfort, but not sure about the accuracy....

  5. Ive only used the armpit one. It works good, takes some time to get the reading. And, you have to add a degree. But, I wouldn't want to stick one in the the mouth, ear... or bum!

  6. Either the ear or the armpit one.  Never use a mouth thermometer on a very young child - too dangerous.

  7. I use either the ear one or the pacifier/soother one.  Love them both and totally recommend them.  Of course the pacifier only really works with babies who use pacifiers.  It's pretty fool proof, even flashes green if temp is ok and red when it's high.  The ear themo reads in just seconds, my daughter doesn't even notice it.  Got them both at Toys R Us.  Very different price points though...
