  1. As a landscaper I would recommend that you use a .75mm rubber liner. This thickness is quite flexible and since your pond is quite deep for its size it will be easier to install. You can go to a 1mm thickness if you expect a lot of weight or sharp objects to contact the rubber.

    My feeling is to use a thinner liner with a good underlay (you can use old carpet or thick weed mat) and offcuts of the liner under rocks or even old car inner tubes which you can usually get for free.
