Did you mean Brighton?  There's something to do there.  There's loads of night-life in Brighton, if you're into that kind of thing.  Or of course you could get the train into London, it has lots of things to do....

Bristol is actually in the south west. It's close enough to Devon and Wales, and also good for trips to Bath. There are a multitude of things to do....just depends on what you are into.

I'm sat here typing this in Bristol and it's news to me that I'm not in the South West all of a sudden!

I have always been under the impression that Bristol was in the South West - I was born and raised in Bristol.
