  1. It cant be changed, global warming is caused by astronomical events, not carbon emissions, global warming is natural and its naturally going to kill us.

  2. convince other people to recycle

    plant trees

    use cars less

    or if possible,

use bikes going to work instead of cars

    hehe

    ^  ^

  3. you punch global warming and hope it dont get back up

  4. the best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods

What can we do to make a community more aware of global warming?

organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio

    have citizan meetings

get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,

that is what we do in Mexico

    POSITIVE ACTIONS

print Tshirts with slogans ,hang posters all over the place (with recycled paper if possible)

classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash

70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .

and it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground

and it is the easiest to take care of

o first of all we have to clasify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plasic bin with a lid

if you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,dead bodies ,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell

the worms will come and decompose the wastes truning it into beautifull blck soil for the garden of flower pots .

if you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,

and add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist

this rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

got a compost heap in the garden for 6 years ,have added tons of banana poles ,and palm leaves at times tree trunks ,the mountain goes up and down and never seems to get any bigger ,the stuff rots and becomes a very fine black compost of high density

    ------------------------------...

global warming cannot be stopped but we can stop helping it becoming faster, and being friendlier to out Environment cannot be bad

if you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,

we have done a lot of comunity cleaning and if you dont leave alternatives or try to work on peoples guilt feelings (some people actually have those ,but not many)

than your efforts are a waste of time.

if you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes

reduce carbon emisions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, powerplants etc.

the capture of carbon and the production of water and assist the aquiferous manta.

the world bank pays large subsidies for reforrestation to capture carbon and the best tree for this is the Pawlonia

Waterharvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground waterflows from the rains into the ground to supply subteranian water supplies.

    the protection of existing forrests.

stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.

education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.

    education on environmental awareness

education on family planning to curb over´population

Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.

more environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as--fire breaks

,more dams.regulations and control for public behaviour

alternative effeciant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

    recicling wastes,limit water use

  5. Go knock on Al Gore's mansion and tell him to stop feeding his gigantic house all of that electricity he so badly wants US to cut back on.

  6. sorry but you are misguided

  7. awesome question. i would love to answer it. ok. for one: walk or ride your bike. and 4th of july is coming up. please do not do any fireworks. the air is dirty enough. and if you want to save energy, then always plug out the electricity things so that you wont waste it.

  8. My educated opinion is that we should fight the idea that we are causing it, if it is really happening.  Honest scientists admit that it's an extremely complex issue.  But scientists love to be paid to study these things, and governments love to raise taxes.

The climate has been, even in very recent times of only a few hundred years ago, much warmer than it is now.  The sun is probably mostly to blame for how warm or cold our globe is in any given century.  There is strong evidence that we are actually in a cooling trend right now, at least in the mighty oceans, and especially in the southern hemisphere.

Our puny efforts to really affect climate are just that: PUNY

  9. Re-use what you can reuse in the house. Simple things like using both sides of a page of paper. Then you recycle it.

Compost your organic wastes if you have a garden.

Eat less meat, but you don't necessarily need to eat "organic" food.

Write to your Congressman supporting issues like renewable energy investment, biofuel subsidies etc.

  10. recycle, turn off lights when you dont need them, turn off tv when u dont need, water when u dont need, switch ur home appliances: oven, dishwasher, microwave to energy star, stop watchin tv too much and do somthing active instead lik hangin out w/ friends, take cold showers, use canvas bags instead of plastic, switch light bulbs 2 energy saving ones(da twisty ones, 4got wat called)

  11. Stop bloviating!

  12. Move the earth into a different orbit so it isn't affected by the cosmic cycles (can you say "milankovic cycle") through which it is passing.

Change the way clouds form so that their effect on global warming fits what political hacks say they should.

Buy "carbon" credits so people like Al Gore can waste enough electricity to light a small city.

  13. Turn off your computer.

Seriously, you know what global warming gave us?  Yosemite National Park.  It used to be covered by a few miles of ice.  If it wasn't for global warming, Los Angeles would still be a swampland with mammoths and saber tooth cats running around.

The world gets warmer, it gets cooler.  It has to do with energy output by the sun, ocean currents, tectonic plates shifting, cosmic rays, and a ton of other things.  Even if we were able to somehow stop all "Greenhouse Gas" emissions today, you know how little effect that would make?  Maybe a degree across the whole world.

This is just a huge ego trip for Al Gore and others, don't buy the hype.

  14. I have three good answers. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Buy products that are reusable. Reduce the amount of energy you use like turning off lights when not in use, use less air conditioning, which is a major contribution to global warming. Plant a tree since they absorb CO2 and looses out oxygen. Recycle cans, plastic, paper, and etc. since they help reduce wastes. Think outside the box, in other words use cardboard instead of Styrofoam. The final answer is encourage others to do the same. Everybody Can do their part by using the three R's. Doing all of this can help our earth be a better place.

  15. Okay, I just wrote an essay about Global Warming so here are a bunch of things I learned while reseaching:

Choose an efficient vehicle: A car that gets 20 miles per gallon will emit about 50 tons of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. A car getting 40 mpg will emit half that much. When buying your next car, pick the least-polluting, most efficient vehicle that meets your needs. Maybe it's an innovative hybrid that combines a gasoline engine with electric motors (and never needs to be plugged in). Or maybe it's a wagon instead of an SUV. And over the average lifetime of an American car, a 40-mpg car will save roughly $3,000 in fuel costs compared with a 20-mpg car, so compare fuel economy performance before you buy. (See www.fueleconomy.gov's Find and Compare Cars feature.)

Drive smart. Get your engine tuned up and keep your tires inflated -- both help fuel efficiency. If all Americans kept their tires properly inflated (and a government study shows that many don't), gasoline use nationwide would come down 2 percent. A tune-up could boost your miles per gallon anywhere from 4 to 40 percent; a new air filter could get you 10 percent more miles per gallon.

Drive less. When possible, choose alternatives to driving (public transit, biking, walking, carpooling), and bundle your errands together so you'll make fewer trips.

Buy energy-efficient appliances. Use your consumer power when buying appliances by shopping for energy-efficient models. You may spend a little more up front, but you'll save a lot on electricity, and you'll reduce pollution produced by power plants. Look for the Energy Star label, which identifies the most efficient appliances. You can also use the Energy Guide labels to compare the efficiency of specific models. Remember that refrigerators consume the most electricity in the home. Today's refrigerators consume less than one-fourth the energy of models built 30 years ago, so an upgrade could mean huge energy savings for your household. Click here for more energy-saving tips.

Replace your light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. While compact fluorescents are initially more expensive than the incandescent bulbs most people use, they last 10 times as long. What's more, a compact fluorescent will lower your energy bills by about $15 a year, and by more than $60 during its life. It will also keep half a ton of carbon dioxide out of the air.

Weatherize your home or apartment. For a very small investment, you can cut your heating and cooling expenses and reduce the burning of fossil fuels. Use weatherstripping to seal drafts around windows and doors. If a draft comes through electrical outlets or switches on outside walls, install foam draft blockers behind the cover plates. Use covers (inside or outside) on air conditioners during cold months. And make sure your home has adequate insulation. Many older homes don't have enough, especially in the attic. You can check the insulation yourself or have it done as part of an energy audit, provided by many utility companies. Call your company to see if it offers this service.

Choose renewable energy. If you live in a state where you can choose your electricity supplier, pick a Green-e-certified company that generates at least half its power from wind, solar energy and other clean sources. Even if you don't have the option to select a supplier, you may still be able to support renewable energy through an option on your electricity bill. For details, see NRDC's guide to buying clean energy.

Offset your carbon footprint. After trying all of the above suggestions, you can make up for your remaining carbon output through purchasing carbon offsets. Offsets represent clean power you can add to the nation's energy grid in place of power from fossil fuels. Not all offset companies are alike; see our guide to carbon offsets for tips on how to choose an offset supplier.

  16. Stop listening to Liberal politicians and quack scientists. That'll help fight it for sure.
