  1. You should continue stretching your splits... Soon you'll be to the ground and able to do oversplits: http://images.dance.net/images/167/samov...

You should also work on toning your body with sit ups, push ups, and butt ups... Try running also, you'll get endurance for all that work the drill team will be making you do...

    Have fun

    :D

  2. Flexibility is really important so keep stretching. Make sure you don't hold a stretch beyond 30s b/c your muscles start to memorize the position and are no longer stretching so switch it up. Also work on your jumps (toe touch, right and left leaps) make sure you are using the flexibility in the jumps and also keeping your legs straight and toes pointed! Then I would work on your pirouettes. If you can get a solid double right and left you are golden. Make sure to stay up in releve, point your toe, and spot! Most importantly have fun while you try out, smile a lot and look like you are comfortable. If you look scared or if you look like you aren't having fun, even if you are a great dancer they will be hesitant to put you on the team! Good Luck!

  3. stretch! that is the most helpful thing!

once you get splits it will help with high kicks.

stretch everyday between now and tryouts.

make sure to keep pointed toes also- judges always make a big deal bout that.
