  1. Sufficient physical exercise during day and yog nidra or meditation in the bed before sleeping.

  2. Call me over

  3. Hold an ice cube as long as possible

  4. Me thinks you are just inviting in a whole mess of 'interestingly mixed' answers to this here.

Hot shower or a hot bath following a walk... A warm milky drink, low lights, light music......

This is of course, the opposite to anything 'energetic' that might be either prescribed or suggested. Both (of course) may have an equal value and be of use to achieve your goal.

    Best of luck.

    Sash.

  5. Knitting.

  6. A wild night of s*x does it for me.

  7. meditate.

meditate over what has occured the day you have just endured.

breathe in deeply and breathe out for several minutes... just think about what you plan on doing the next day. drink a cup of warm herbal tea. then read a nice quote for the night or something and head to bed.

    works like a charm.

  8. some scientific tips for good sleep-

Things that u should avoid- coffee/tea, late-night reading/watching tv, alcohol and heavy dinner. all the above will do good.

Now things that u should follow-evening exercise, a glass of warm milk before retiring to bed, lovemaking, listening to soothing music.etc.

All the above tips r for sleep hygiene recommended by psychiatric textbooks. Besides u should allow only the positive things that happened to u that day and thank u r god for that.

  9. i was going to say read, but you do that, how about crossword puzzles .  meditate, walking just before dark helps.

  10. you could try doing some stretches or play soft soothing music i play classical to help my kids sleep at night.

  11. Rampant rabbit?

  12. Stick the kettle on, make a sandwich, have some cake. Then tomorrow order Sky TV.

  13. Self hypnosis, It always works for me. No matter how up tight or stressed out at bedtime, I go into a trance and sleep like a log.  When I wake up in the morning I'm totally refreshed and ready to roll.  I used to have dark circles under my eyes and now they are all gone.  Just get a book on self hypnosis and read it through a couple of times, you'll pick it up quick. Now, close your eyes, you are getting very, very sleepy.... . .

  14. Your doing the thing that i find most relaxing by being on Yahoo A.

  15. I've always heard that a warm bath or hot shower before bed helps relax the muscles....so that.. and scented candles while in shower i think would just do the trick =)

  16. well this is what i do, and by the time im done, im beat out.

so at night, i turn on the radio, do a few dances, lol. i take a bath, i only was my hair twice a week, so usually i wash my body with dove energizing body wash with a loofa, then i exfoliate with a maragiatia scented exfoliant that i got at bath and body works, and i use a brush i got there too to rub it in my skin, then i shave, every night. i use the venus embrace. I LOVE IT.

then i dry off, i use a moisturizer that smells like cucumber, i LOVE IT!, i get dressed into pajamas, wash my face with the clean and clear acne kit, which is pretty good,  brush my teeth, put hydroxide, and floss. i dont brush my hair, cuz of my hair type. i turn off my radio, climb into bed, and the only thing on my mind, is the misty margarita cucumber scented room. then i just pass out. works everytime.

  17. think about all you have to be grateful for in your life... sweet dreams!

How about soothing music on youtube

    Bath everynight before bed

    Lavender on pillow

    No caffiene

Do not put the light out,as your mind will race around waking you up even more.

My fav is late night news on quitely in the background,as soon as l hear gordon brown l'm zzzzz

Best though is a dude to give you one h**l of a sh****ging every night until you scream for forgivness. You'll sleep well l promise

  21. Ok...I reckon everyones gonna be in stitches about what I'm gonna suggest cos i know all my friends do but it works so I thought I'd 'spread the word'..

I usually have trouble sleeping cos I have a thousand things running through my mind...errands..people...parents...schoo... etc.

So...I close my eyes and lie on my back and visualise one of the things thats on my mind...a bill to pay for example. Then I breathe in through my nose whilst constantly visualising that bill. When I think I've had enough I breathe out through my mouth but as I breatheout the bill I'm visualising goes smaller and smaller until it disappears...kinda like I'm blowing the bill away??

Repeat until all the things in your mind have disappeared.

You've probably heard the 'breathe in breathe out' technique to get you relaxed...this is just my spin on things.

After that I usually chant a mantra of some sort...the repetitiveness of it all gets you quite relaxed and depending where you've got the mantra from they're usually all quite relaxing as you switch off and concentrate on just mentally reciting this mantra.

Finally I pretty much daydream (or nightdream??) and think about stuff I want to happen...stuff that might not happen....stuff that might of happened... the ideal guy...the perfect date...when you've last been happiest...anything that floats your boat really...

God that sounds mega cheesy but its worked for me for years and I used to be a near insomniac....

    good luck!

  22. Well i've read all my books too so i started them again.

My sister draws before she sleeps, i read or lame as it is i count sheep.

Mostly though i read. Perhaps you need to buy some more books or start all over again reading them. Once is never enough. You pick up on more second time round.

  23. well reading usually is the best thing, so check out a book from the library, i don't' know if u r religious or not but praying always helps. try taking a warm (bubble) bath right b4 bed to calm u, and also having the sent of lavender near is supposed to be calming. try keeping a journal, get a newspaper or listen to calming music. the main thing is, don't concentrate on not being able to sleep and dont' watch the time b/c that will make it worse

  24. Redtube.com its free

  25. i had your problem.

    i started taking tylenol pm,

and if you text before bed or go online before bed,

dont do it 30 minutes prior you wanting to sleep.

or do what my best friend does and smoke some weed before he sleeps. that works i guess.

  26. i agree take some pm meds and listen to sleep music thats what i do even though it sounds dumb but it works and relaxs you. dont use any phone comp or tv 1/2 before bed

  27. breathing. inhale exhale properly etc. using scented oils like lavender are known to help people sleep. listening to calming music. if u have anyone to massage you get them to lol

  28. walking wakes me up and the whole smoking weed thing.. smoke about two hours before you wanna go to sleep. at first it wakes you up a little.. i play solitare and listen to slower music on my ipod before i go to bed and it always does the trick

  29. Reading will help you wind down so you can sleep well. You can find an endless supply of books at the local library. If your having trouble falling asleep, count your breath. Dismiss any thoughts that come to your head and focus on your breath. This meditation technique always puts  me out.

  30. Drink warm milk or get a psp console and play it in bed or you could listen to music at night in bed.

I use my mobile to play games at night and it still helps me sleep. Sometimes i had to listen to some music in bed.

  31. music
