What things can using "dirty fuel" do to your car and the way it runs?

My car has been running really badly for the past week and a bit. I filled up the tank and then it started about then (two weeks ago). Though I didn't make the connection until I filled it up yesterday and the problem stopped today.

It wasn't accelerating very well, gears changing rough and the engine was shaking when it was idiling. Spluttered along sometimes while driving as well.

Could it really have been the dirty fuel? What other things can dirty fuel do to your car?

It was really extreme and I never thought dirty fuel would do all that.

clog the fuel filter,pre ignition,stalling,skipping,runs sluggishly

Clog your fuel filter and cause you to stall out and cough out:( Sorry not a good thing:(

Yep, trhat's the kind of stuff it does.  It could make the engine clog up.

Just get some gas additive/treatment stuff and pour it in the tank (per directions). and don't buy that dirty gas again.
