Lava - liquid rock erupted at the earth's surface - has a temperature between 600 and 1200 degrees Celcius, so anything which combusts at those temperatures will burn.  Also, much of the magma is erupted as fast moving clouds of gas and rock material, which will destroy anything organic in its path.
