I have been reading a book on the differences in class levels.

I am finding it facinating. What in your opinion separates the middle and upper classes?

  1. They look for new ways to have more things that they don't need, but hey, it's cool.  Then they have kids that don't respect the value of a dollar because they never had to earn it.  Then they become the ones the rest of us hate because they buy a degree and make money too, and think things like poor people are all drug addicts or want to be that way.

  2. Not all wealthy people are bad. I know I'm not a bad person.

Cause I wasn't always wealthy, you know. I grew up in a poor neighborhood.

    but that's not the point.

The point is, it depends on how you were raised. If you were born into wealth, you'll probably end up spoiled. But if you know how it feels to live in poverty, like actually experience it, you'll change your veiws on materialistic items.

I guess it also depends on your parents...

Money can't buy you happiness. It's true.

  3. Plain old Attitude!!!! Wealthy people create wealthy clubs have wealthy parties and invite wealthy friends now it that really wealthy oh i mean healthy what a life aye!!!!

  4. opportunity to make money separates the classes.

most often you have to know someone to get somewhere.

  5. go on cruises..play Bacarack in Paris

  6. Well if you're celebrity, you're prone to frequent acts of stupidity,  Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, Rosie O' Donnell, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, Etc., Etc.

  7. Wealthy people have more influence--they dominate America (corporate America) and thus have a great deal of influence over a number of matters. They almost always have college degrees, and many have advanced degrees, such as a law degree, a PhD, etc. Certain professions are usually comprised of middle class people: lawyers, doctors, scientists, etc.--and a lot of the time these are 'family professions'--you are a lawyer, and so was your dad, and grand-father, and mother, etc.

Children of upper class parents are often perfectionists, and are pushed very, very hard to be as successful as possible. A great amount of emphasis is placed on college (and even high school) choice. The children feel the pressure to do as well as their parents did.

Wealthy people are often healthier, because they have better access to better health care, both because of connections and because they have the money to pay for it. The upper class is exclusive, but perhaps not consciously so. It is quite a private life, with private schools, houses with lots of security, private tutors, private country clubs, etc.

They often participate in specific leisure activities, such as golf, tennis, horseback riding, and boating. They are often quite cultured, both because they travel extensively (often overseas), and because they participate in many cultural activities, like the opera and museum galas/openings/exhibits. They also indulge in nice cars, nice houses, nice gardens, etc. This is actually more important than it seems, because it solidifies their status--it shows others, including other upper class people, that they are indeed part of that class.

  8. They keep creating more wealth.
