How can you not see the effects of global warming on our earth? And if you dont believe it why wouldnt you still want to recycle and conserve, seeing how that is just common sense!

  1. I do nothing, because it is a scam of the century.

Globe is warming because of the distance variations towards sun and the seas of the world are 150-300 years behind.

nothing to do with the process of me going to buy ice cream with my own car from 5 kilometers distance. Im not raping the nature, im just wastin my money to over-priced gasoline for personal needs thats all.

  2. Miss B

Let me start off by saying we (my family and I) live completely, 100% “off of the grid and are completely self sufficient”

The house is built utilizing natures natural elements, in the shape of an octagon with 8ft wide arch doors on every wall to catch every angle of wind (typical 4 sided homes have half the chance as one with 8 sides. A circle being the most efficient design). Woodburning stoves, solar chimney, solar AC, solar heating, solar water heating (pool and home), solar stove, solar power, wind power, hydrogen powered back up generator, hydrogen back up water heater, hydrogen stove, 2 hydrogen powered trucks, 1 EV (electric vehicle) and satellite internet.

We also built many green small cabins on the ranch that we offer to family, friends and our on-site off-grid workshop guests, including one straw bale, one papercrete, earth bag and adobe, one cob and cordwood, one underground and rammed earth, one log and post and beam and one rock. Each one actually started as a test for what the main house would be and were later finished and turned into guest cabins. I later wrote a guide on how to build with alternative materials using alternative methods for next to nothing.

We raise meat and milk goats, chickens for meat and eggs, ducks for meat and eggs, trap havilina (wild boar pig), rabbit, quail. brew our own beer from home grown products, preserve our fruits, vegetables, etc. smoke and jerky the meat, make our own soap, cheese.

There are no utility lines, no water lines, no roads, tv, cell service, etc. on our ranch. EVERYTHING needed is produced here. All electricity comes from 27 solar panels, 2 main wind gens and a back hydrogen generator if needed (typically we can last 9 days with all luxuries of sunless windless weather, hasn't happened yet). Water is caught and storaged from the rain. Hot water is made with solar batch water heaters with an on-demand hydrogen hot water heater as backup. solar chimney, solar AC, solar heating, solar water heating (pool and home), solar stove, solar power, wind power, hydrogen powered back up generator, hydrogen back up water heater, hydrogen stove, 2 hydrogen powered trucks, 1 EV (electric vehicle) and satellite internet. Even our vehicles use alternative energy (2 hydrogen trucks, 1 EV electric vehicle converted). Because of this we have no bills, no debt and no mortgage.

I believe this is the first step anyone can make “help the environment”. Once you convert your own life style to a greener more eco friendly route, you can start helping others.

my home has all the comforts listed above plus some. we live very comfortable without effecting the environment. just saying that tol et you know it's possible. you may not want to go as extreme as me and my family but anywhere in between is something.

Without getting to in depth here, Using alternative fuels in your vehicles and harnessing your own electricity from the sun, water, earth and wind are the 2 are key elements in making a green transition and erasing your carbon footprint.

here's a calculator to find out how much of a green impact your making (carbon footprint)

if you'd like to make your next step feel free to contact me personally at www agua-luna com

I've been installing home made Solar panels. Solar stoves, Solar batch and inline hot water heaters. Solar radiant heating. Solar home heating and AC, along with home made wind gens and other alternative energy items for the last 3 years.

You can even make the above projects on site with simple parts from the local hardware stores or auto stores or junk yards. For more info check out some guides I wrote / compiled on how to DIY www agua-luna com

Again these projects can be accomplished anywhere by anyone.

if you absolutely can't do anything in your home at least you can put alternative fuels in your car. most major automotive manufacturers (Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors, etc) recommend the use of bio fuels, and nearly every car manufacturer in the world approves ethanol blends in their warranty coverage.

In fact your probably even driving an ethanol car and didn't even know it.

    The trick is finding fuel.

I've been producing biofuel for about 3 years now, it's not extremely difficult. Basically you need general household ingredients, a processor (or still for ethanol) and some used oil. Blend it, let separate, screen and use. I complied a guide a while back to help walk you threw the process step by step, just email me or check out..

as for recyling the best way i've found without taking money from your won pocket is to join a free freecycle group in your area or visit the habitat for humanity.

If you’d like help in making your self sufficient steps, feel free to contact me directly. I’ve written several how-to DIY guides available at www agua-luna com

on the subject. I also offer online and on-site workshops, seminars and internships to help others “help the environment”.

Hope this helped, feel free to contact me personally if you have any questions if you’d like assistance in making your first self sufficient steps, I’m willing to walk you step by step threw the process. 3. I live in Oklahoma and our hottest year on record is 1988. That summer we had 32 days in a row when the temperature was over 100 degrees. For the past 20 years the average temperature has been LOWER every year. Now exactly what should I do about global warming when it doesn't affect my part of the globe? And since my area is just one of many places that have not seen a rise in temperature for decades how can you call it "global" warming? Perhaps we should call it local warming. Or in my case local cooling.

Maybe if we all join hands and work together we can stop global warming and have another Mini Ice Age. Wouldn't that be fun?

  4. My fiance and I are gradually going green.

To that end, we're trying to reduce the amount of carbon-emitting fuels and products that require excessive amounts of carbon emission to produce.  In conjunction with that, we're also trying to reduce products which require more fossil fuels to travel to us than that which we can procure locally or make for ourselves.

We're also reducing the amount light and hot water that we draw from the grid, to include: air-drying our clothes, using candles at night, taking shorter showers, etc...

  5. i dont do anything because global warming is a myth. every so called fact brought up by al gore has been proven wrong over and over and over again  and people continue to believe this nonsense. and because of it our economy suffers the most.

  6. If "Global Warming" was real, I would do what ever I could to help fix the problem.

Since "Global Warming" is just a fiction story made up to scare people, there isn't much that can be done to fight it.

  7. Okay these people are REALLY pissing me off. GLOBAL WARMING IS REAL!!!!!!!!!!! It's not fake. If people would just take the time and research something this important before they starting making opinions about it the world would be a better place. Global warming is happening and its going on right before our eyes. What people don't understand is that Global warming isn't just a big ice age. Its big heat waves w/very little cold fronts. 1 day it will be 100 degrees the next -10 this is a VERY BAD thing. In a 100 years the world is supposed 2 be gone! ONLY 100 YEARS!!!!! And sure your probably thinking i won't be alive in 100 years, but think of it this way. By not doing anything 2 stop global warming you are killing yourself and your future family. Animal's and plants are already moving towards the poles, Glacier's are melting, Cities built on the water, like Venice, are sinking!, The number of 4 and 5 hurricanes have doubled......DOUBLED in the last 30 years! The earth is changing trying 2 acclimate to global warming what we need 2 do is stop it. Oh and if you don't believe me just check out he fricken HUMONGOUS HOLE IN THE OZONE LAYER!!!!!!!! What we need 2 do is use less hot water, cut down on driving, plant more trees, recycle, use less gasoline,  change regular light bulbs to fluorescent light bulbs. We need 2 change 2 help save the Earth. The only place we can live.

  8. Hey Miss B...

Whether you think you can do anything about global warming or not, you can do some easy and fun things that will make you contribute less to pollution and save you money for things you'd rather do.

I use power bars to turn off tvs and dvds players when they're not in use. This saves about $10 - 20 a year per tv set and reduces your CO2 output by 0.150 tonnes. That's a start.

  9. I re-cycle from packaging to phones-most people dont know HOW MUCH is re-usable-even pc parts,,,,,

I think THATS part of the problem!!

    GREAT queastion!!!!!!!!!-good for you!

  10. No matter if you belive in global warming or not, it's no secret that humans have had a very negative impact on the environment. We can help to reduce our energy usage by taking shorter showers and turning off the lights after leaving a room. I save up plastic bottles, soda cans, and glass bottles, then take them to a recycling plant. If I have to run errands locally, I ride a bike there or jog. Little changes like these can greatly reduce our carbon footprint.

  11. I think global warming IS real, but i also read that the earth is a few hundred years overdue for an ICE AGE. So if global warming is real, couldn't it help more than hurt? If we raise the earth's temperature enough, then maybe in 2150, not everyone will have to move to Brazil to avoid freezing.

I don't really do anything for or against global warming, but the net effect of my behavior is probably good for global warming. I drive a car that gets 30 - 40mpg, i ride a bike about 70% of the time (0 mpg, + burns calories). i turn off all the lights in the house except the room im in. i shut all the doors in the house to preserve heat. but all of this is for health or saving money. :)
