This is just for fun. I put my daughter down to sleep on her stomach, she sleeps so much better that way! She can roll over on her own, so it isn't a big concern anymore.

  1. Emma has always had a blankie and bumper in her crib.  She started rice cereal at three months old.  She was on table food by six months old.  She only drinks two bottles of formula a day (she is nine months old).  I am sure their is a lot more....

  2. same...my 9 week old sleeps on her tummy and has since 4 weeks old!

  3. sleep on thier tummies

    co sleep

pacifiers when breast feeding no such thing as nipple confusion

used normal laundry soap not sensitive kind

    drank coffee while nursing

  4. Liam sleeps in bed right next to me, its the only way either of us sleep

  5. with my 1st

he had cereal in his bottle (hes not overweight and is healthy)

    co-slept

    slept on his tummy

started solids around 4 months (he was 9 1/2 lbs at birth)

he watched tv before the age of 2!!! ooooh

with my 2nd (now 4 months)

    we are still co-sleeping

he has reflux so he has cereal in bottle for that

we just started solids last week

and he likes the sounds and colors of spongebob

my friends on the other hand  do some things i would never do

    one of them

baby gramma gave her ice cream when she was 2 weeks old

her baby is 5 months and she gives him cheetos just to name somethings

i think that your the momma and you do what you want and what you think is best

  6. -my son started to sleep on his tummy some nights here and there since he was 3 months old (that he when he first started to roll over.

    . . . .

  7. My son has slept on his tummy since a week old.We started solids early. He has slept with a blanket since a week old.I am not a "by the book" person.I go by my mommy instincts regardless of anyone else's opinion on it.

    Eta-Remembered 2 more.He doesn't use bpa-free bottle & isn't vaccinated.

  8. My son sleeps with a pillow

He slept with blankets from day one, he was born in Feb. Cold, cold.

    I co-sleep

He does NOT use BPA-free bottles

I gave him a pacifier on his 1st night out of me

I quit burping him at 4months, he burps (pretty good) on his own.

He has never 'cried it out'

I breastfeed & drink a couple of glasses of wine ocassionaly

    I breastfeed & smoke ocassionaly.

His bath tub marks HOT when i bathe him, lol. He likes it that way & no, it's not really hot.

I can't think of anything else, but i assure you, there's more

  9. *  my daughter slept on her tummy from 1 month

    *  she STILL has bumpers in her crib @ 18 months

  10. I co-slept with my daughter until she was a year old.

  11. With my first two children I had them sleep with me in my bed since it made feedings so much easier and we all got more sleep. Now that I have a 3rd child she sleeps in her bassinet which is in my room. It was hard to break the first two kids out of the habit of sleeping in mom and dads bed, so I won't make that mistake again!

  12. hmmm..... well one so called expert said i needed to stop nursing and feed my son a high calorie formula and he thought he needed bloodwork because he "probably" had a GI problem absorbing calories. this was all after i told him he had a stomache bug and had diarrhea for a week. doc's dont listen sometimes- he was 17 poundds then at 9 months and he's 16 months now at 22 pounds- i'm obviously doing something right and he's still nursing. they had also put on his cahrt that he potentially had "failure to thrive" when he was meeting all his milestones and more and at his lowest weight was 5.13 and he was 17 pounds at 9 months- doesnt make much sense

i also co-sleep andd what not ( which our doctors thinks is fine if done correctly)

also, i have showered with my son since he was about 2 weeks old

  13. I work in child care and myself and the parents break all of the rules. Babies sleep on their bellies for most naps, feed children what ever we want to give them, peanut butter and hot dogs under a year old, eggs at a very early age, cows milk from 6 months on. Why do we let doctors or as they call themselves "experts" raise our children. They are your children raise them how you want.

  14. I love your question!  And reading all the answers were funny!

I am a 1st time mommy with a 7 week old and now I won't feel 'bad' about doing things my way!  Even though I haven't had much time yet to brake the 'rules' and find my niche!  Even if it isn't recommened! LOL!

  15. I co-slept with my first (still do)...

I let them sleep on their bellies (for naps only)

I let them "sample" mashed potatoes or other mashed veggies before 6 months--just a bit on the tip of my finger.

I didn't change a wet diaper at nighttime... just poopy ones!

  16. My son slept on his stomach almost from day one. Moms need sleep too. He sleeps with me ocassionally. I let him wear just a diaper around the house on hot days, take baths or showers with him, I let him play with non toy items like these rubbery pool diving toys (they've never been used in a pool) to chew on, and his wipes container, because he likes to push it around and roll it around. I let him eat those dissolving fruit puffs before he could crawl, which isn't recommended.

I have bottles that contain BPA that he does use. I still use Johnson and Johnson baby bath products. I took him to a public pool when he was 4.5 months old.

  17. LOL i love reading the answers to this question because I am a first time mother and I thought I was doing everything wrong! lol my five month old sleeps on her tummy (and has since about a month old) just because we found its the only way she'll sleep through the night, we started her on fruits AND veggies at around three months, i put cereal in her bottle since three months (only because the formula was just not sustaining her anymore), she sleeps with a blanket, has a bumper in her crib along with a teddy bear or two, LOVES to watch Dora the Explorer on tv and even "talks" back to it lol, and I dont even have a clue as to what a BPA free bottle is.

I am glad you asked this because It's really refreshing to hear that I am not the only one. =)

  18. "experts" *snicker*

There are so many that are titled "experts", that really have no place with the title.

Anyways, I co-sleep and I choose not to vaccinate my children. Those seem to often be the biggest "offenders".

  19. Angela sleeps on her belly a lot these days...she rolls there herself and I feel that moving her is pointless. We use a crib bumper. She's not quite six months old yet and is already eating fruits and veggies. We *never* did tummy time in the beginning...she hated it, and I felt no urgency to force her to lie in a position that she was uncomfortable in and, at that point, could not get out of herself if she wanted to. Oh, and my doctor specifically told me to "get her on a schedule," which I have never enforced. LOL. I maintain a routine, and it has worked well, but I don't force her to sleep or eat when she's clearly not ready. I think I've done the right things...it's obvious that she's happy and healthy.

  20. My 6 month old and I take co-showers. A big no no for most.

My son has been on a cruise which isn't recommended until 9 months of age.

  21. My son too slept on his tummy early on.

He has always slept with a blanket.

There are bumpers in his crib.

We co-sleep whenever I get a little lonely and want some cuddles :)

He has had a bath everyday since the cord fell off, even then it was spongebath everyday. Always lotion afterwrds.

He started solids at 4 months...not much though..that's where we are now. He gets a couple tablespoons a day..that's about what it adds up to.

    He will "watch" t.v.

I also do not change wet diapers at night..

Hmm.. I know there is more lol

  22. My goddaughter does that too..she sleeps much better =]

Most things they say are correct like mum sucking babies dummy ect.

Like my goddaughter had a quilt before she was 12months but we just kept an eye on here and she was fine

    =]

  23. I cover him with blankets at night.  It's just way too cold in our house to use those stupid gowns.

  24. My son was eating spicy Indian food, teriyaki and sushi (no raw fish...just veggie stuff) by the time he was 1 year old.  My mother was sure I was going to kill him with the chicken curry, but he loved it, and my response was, "What do you think the kids eat in India?"

  25. oohhh so many, here are the top 3

    1. Don't feed him solids until after 6 months.  He's started at 4.

    2. Don't give him water (I've heard after 6 months and even a year).  He started with tiny sips since 4 and now at 6 months he has a few ounces every day.

    3. Co-sleeping.  I only did it the first 6 weeks because we stayed at my in-laws and didn't have room for a crib.  He's loved his crib ever since we went home.  Actually I'm the one that misses him.

  26. We co slept until my son was 9 months old (still do sometimes) ....he started eating solids at 3 1/2 months (fruit first...not cereal)....we do co showers once in a while...

We just try to go by gut instinct and take the 'experts' advice as just that...advice...

  27. Ive never done nothing...ive never been told not to do something and if i was id listen and take note so i wasnt puttin my child at risk

  28. Same thing.  My son would nto sleep longer then an hour on his back, so we tried his belly and he started sleeping almost 5-6 hours at a time.  Also we use a bumper which is supposed to be big no no.  But the way my son moves around in his sleep I'm more worried about him banging his head and getting a concusion.
