What things do you talk about on a first date?

Ask about job, family (how many siblings etc.). I was on a date once and the guy asked me if I could go anywhere in the world right this minute where would I go. This was great because it really broke the ice and led to other conversations.

I think more important are the things NOT to talk about on first dates...

Old relationships - could be a sign you aren't over them yet and the same goes for her. Plus everyone has 'been done wrong' stories. These could absorb the whole night, and put everyone involved in a bad mood due to bad past memories.

Odd things about yout - could be a funny conversation, but could also veer potential relationships in the opposite direction. For instance, I'm a nut case about my dog. I buy her halloween costumes and get her christmas presents, but on a first date, a guy doesn't need to know that... lol.

Anything that might offend - so you like to go to strip clubs? you smoke pot everynow and then with friends?... etc.... Although these may or may not be things that describe you, things like this could make a girl be VERY stand offish from you. Even if the stuff you are talking about happened a long time ago...

Other than that, pretty much anything else you talk about is just part of the getting to know each other process. What movies you like? Are you close to your family? Kids? Hobbies? Do you like to play poker, go fishing, favorite sports team?? Blah blah blah....

Just be friendly and good conversation will just happen...

Don't go to a movie on a first date... you can't get to know each other that way....

Only about her unless she asks about me. Just ask her various questions that aren't intrusive, rude, or offensive. Good luck!
