What things does the Chinese government forbid people to do?

It's not limited to 1 female child, its 1 child in general. Although sometimes if you have more than 1 child, you just have to pay a fine.  But, I have heard that if it is unborn (and you already ahve one) they may make you abort it.  But twins and that sort, are fine.  And since the earthquake in Sichuan, the government is letting the families that lost or had a child taht was severely injured have another one. They are also letting many families who already had a child adopt an orphan from the earthquake.  There are also many thigns that are "forbidden" (just like in the west) like murder, prostitution, drugs, etc.  But, just like in the west, those things still occur.

I just got back from a trip to China, and i travelled to many of the famous sights there, one being tiananmen square. I was told by my tour guide that the incident at tiananmen is not allowed being spoken about, especially when around the area. THere are Chinese police standing throughout the sqaure to make sure this law is obeyed. Also, all writings about the massacre have been elminated by the govermenmt, so many chinese children do not even know about the incident.

if you won't tell your kids or didn't hear from your parents about the Kent State massacre in 1970, don't expect the Chinese to remember the Tiananmen Square.

My understanding of it is... that they also limit families to one female child. If a couple has more than one female child then that child must be placed up for adoption. This was put in place to help the population.
