What things to do in munich? Shopping, activities and all?

I am going to munich this summer. Can u tell me the good areas to visit. What and where to shop. I don't want very expensive stuff but i want good stuff like souveniers, or clothes, anything like that.

One more thing I also want to get back a lot of that football merchandise of chelsea and man u. Where can i find all that in munich?

Not to mention the Nymphenburg, Garmisch just 40 minutes away, night clubs, discos, and anything you would find in any large city but friendly as in small towns.  Munich is known as the Millionendorf (Village of a Million) indicating a small town feel with city activities.  Chelsea and Man U?  Really!  Go to the UK for that - flights from Munich are cheap too.

Take the U-Bahn to the Marienplatz.  Everything you could possibly want to buy can be found near there.  Two good chain department stores that are reasonably priced are Karstadt and Kaufhof.  Why would you want to buy Chelsea or Man U stuff in Munich?  In Munich you should be buying Bayern-Muenchen merchandise.  

Other things to do:  Deutsches Museum, the Biergarten at the Chinesischer Turm at the Englischergarten....and the Englischergarten itself.  Also visit the Residenz, the Viktualienmarkt and the Ratskeller.

Hi,

best summer activities are:

- beer gardens

- English garden

- Deutsches Museum (when it's too hot outside)

- visit to Andechs Monastery and Starnberger See

- visit to Chiemsee and Herrenchiemsee

....

Great place to shop in smaller boutiques that aren't mainstream is Augustenstraße, quite near to the center of Munich.

For chains like H&M, etc, the pedestrian zone around Marienplatz would be your place.

There are many shopping centres, for instance the Olympia Einkaufszentrum o there are many shops at the Marienplatz. If you come to Munich this summer, you can write me an e-mail and maybe I can show you a few places of the city and her environs.
