What think you all of this poem?

She has the keys to open me

Unlocking the bolt lock of my life

She opens my door

And enters me

Making herself comfortable

She puts things in place

Straightens my rugs

Puts away clutter

Giving the old halls of my heart

A "woman's touch"

None of the secret rooms in me

Are untouched by her

She lives in me

She is at home

I am her house

She has the key

  1. I think this poem is wonderful. You've taken the "key to my heart" theme to a new extreme. The "bolt lock" was a bit odd sounding, but better than "dead bolt" I guess. That would sound too cold for such a warm poem. So, I thought that showed you were definitely paying close attention to word choices. (Either that or not everybody calls 'em dead bolts like they do 'round here.)

Another poem that leaves me in awe at how compassionate poets like you can be.

  7. This is so romantic and so evocative. I absolutely love it. I love the intimate, quaint depictions of "Giving the old halls of my heart...A woman's touch". I also genuine openness of offering "all the secert rooms" in you.  But the last four lines are what really struck me as the heart and soul of the relationship. They are a poem unto themselves. This is one of my very favorites of yours.  It is lovely.  Thank you.

  8. Straightening rugs and putting away clutter of the heart leaves room for only love.

This is one of my favorites!

  9. This poem expresses the love of a woman for her man who openly and whole-heartedly accepts all that she has to offer.  Both give and receive simultaneously.  The two complete each other.  He is utterly content.

  10. Semper Fi Reborn,

Fi, you're always kickin' it with the mad verses and poetic nuances! I can look at your work and say to myself, "Now this is a brother that has no problem expressing himself proper and coming correct on the subject matter as well!" And you always are upbeat and positive while most rappers dis the ladies, here you are within strong masculinity showing a softer, pleasant side. It's like I like my steaks...WELL DONE!!           Grade AAA+++

  11. I really love this poem. The idea and explanation of how you feel about this woman is very clever. I think that you could build on it a little more. Like use just a little more language and just twist the explanations a little bit. Other than that, it's really good. Nice job

  12. is she your girlfriend or the maid, for crying out loud

  13. Pretty nice.

  14. This one makes me smile because it reminds me of something my husband said to me once. Your love poems are always beautiful to read, and this one is no exception!

  15. I love your love poems.

  16. If you aren't careful, you will in later life be as I and be called an overly romantic old coot.  But it ain't bad.Poetry like this is easy to write when you love and are loved.  Well done.

  17. its indented prose, but if it means something to you, then thats good.

  18. omg this is so good you are a genious

  19. Cool...when is she going to run the vacuum?

  20. I really like your poem. The " Making herself comfortable' isn't really working for me though. maybe the word comfortable isn't the word you should use...

And maybe putting the verbs as "putting things..., straightening , putting..  (actually no i think it's good like it is :D)

and maybe changing comfortable with something like "at ease" , i think it "flows" more with the poem

    Hope it'll help you! :D
