Hoping that neighbor don't start his mower

At seven a.m. Cause if he starts it...

Grass gonna fly, his shirt, shoes, and his cap.

But, I'm a peaceful sort, with a good heart...

Damned fool just cranked it up. Now I got to

Flatten all four tires...my car's tires, of course!

Then sashay over to his idiot

Self...bat my lashes, sweetly ask for help...

Which I don't need, cause my brothers taught me

Everything about tires and fixing...

But HE don't know that, and I ain't tellin...

Cause, long about eleven a...d**n...m,

He will be through inflating all four tires,

And it will be too hot to mow his lawn.

(He has to do it with a bicycle pump!)

  1. Well done on a Saturday morning.

  2. Any guy who mows his lawn at 7 a.m.

Has gone to bed the night before long before 10.00

I got my revenge by mowing my lawn in the dark

It made every dog in the neighbourhood bark.

I continued till he came and screamed out his door

I said"How do you like it buddy?",now he does it no more.

The next day I received cookies, pies and home made bread

From thankful neighbours, who like to sleep later in bed.

  3. WoW... That's good !!! Yes the sonnet....Also

  4. Brilliant -- the metre here is so fluent, which I love.  I prefer this poem quite a bit to the rain sonnet, partly for that reason.

  14. A wonderfully funny modern sonnet. I'm reading it from that Round Table I just wrote about and spilling my fourth cup of coffee.
