I don't want my kid to just sit around like a freakin" r****d all day not learning and being out of control or just playing.  They need to be learning, and disciplined but not being screamed at by a n**i.  being the n**i is my job!  Too many daycares are just kids running amok...... yiyi

you should definitely enjoy children, but being a provider and a teacher is more than that. it's also about loving to learn and enjoying sharing that knowledge with children!

Great teachers set high expectations for themselves.  Teachers must have great knowledge of the current pedagogy.  They are organized and devoted; able to create, execute, and evaluate lesson plans with clear objectives.  They are creative thinkers; they are able to use and demonstrate appropriate uses for technology in the classroom.  

Great teachers are excellent communicators.  They are able to speak and write clearly.  That special teacher must be able to effectively communicate with other teachers, students, and parents to enhance each students learning experience.  They demonstrate a genuine caring attitude  for each student as future leaders and a commitment to the students, school, and community.  



Finally, great teachers utilize a teaching style that motivates children to learn.  That special teacher must be able to create and maintain excellent classroom management to optimize learning.  Great teachers have high expectations for their students that go beyond the outlined curriculum, teaching social and citizenship skills that last a lifetime.  They create lesson plans with clear goals and directions so the students know exactly how to succeed.  Great teachers engage each student in the classroom; they encourage students to be creative thinkers and to look at things from many different angles. That special teacher utilizes a variety of assessment tools that enable each kind of learner to become successful.
