I left at 7:30 a.m. and got home a bit late...6:14 p.m. I'm usually home by 6:00 p.m. Did you get caught behind an idiot? I did!

  1. left 5:30 got home 4:00 . allways get stuck behind ppl . single lane for 35 miles :)

  2. Put it this way; I'm all for a $10/minute fine for the traffic that someone causes to back up through failure to maintain their vehicle or do something stupid.

Austin to Dallas should be a nice, simple 3 hour drive.  Sunday, it took me 5 hours, due to first the right lane, and a half mile later, the left lane, being shut down in Temple.  I listened to 3 CD's and my left leg was stiff and sore from riding the clutch by the time I got to Waco.

15 minutes isn't a delay worth really noting in my book, I can get delayed that much when I'm about to leave my office with a last minute request.

Far and away the best one I've come across, was an idiot causing an hour delay in traffic because the cops had shut down 2 out of 3 lanes of a busy interchange while he walked up the service road to get a new tire.  The urge to hit the service road and find the stupid sob so I could run over him was difficult to override.

I very deliberately rammed a guy a few years ago, (doing 15mph in a 40 zone, and not letting anyone around him.)  He stopped being in my way on my commute to work after that.  Never did see him again.

And as we approach the holidays, more and more stressed people are going to be on the road, meaning they'll behave with increasingly worse behavior as we approach Christmas and Hannukah.  I locked up the brakes 3 times tonight on my 11 mile drive to class as people did something collasally stupid in front of me; a left turn from the center lane, a late left in front of me, and a cut-off that I thought was going to end in another police report.

I added bourbon to my coffee and went to class.

This time of year, I only venture out on the roads when I have to.

  3. I worked from home today. Never left the house.

  4. Well, lets see...I got up at 6am, and I got home at 3:30pm. I always get stuck behind an idiot, as I live in the suburbs and have single lane roads for miles and miles.
