I needed to be at my wedding venue about 6:10 am to be dressed on-site and ready for my 1 hour makeup appointment. (Wedding start time was 11:30 am.) Needed to be there waaay early for makeup (1 hr. appt.), hair (1 hr. 15 min.), and photography. Had to be up 5 am. I probably got about 4 hours sleep and the groom only got 2 hours! But we were both wide awake for the entire wedding including reception. I think it was worth it to get up early, be married by noon, enjoy the rest of the day, and go to sleep early.

  1. I haven't had my wedding yet.. not until May. But when my sister got married I spent the night at her house and we maybe got 2 hours of sleep. I'm sure I will be too excited/nervous to sleep. But I think with your adrenaline you can make it through the day because you are excited, happy, and nervous.

  2. I needed to be at my wedding by 1:00 pm. I had to get up at 7:00 am to pick up my bouquet and then be at the beauty salon at 8:30 am, the photographer was going to be at my house at 11:00 am to start taking the before shots of before changing into my wedding dress.

I think I slept a total of six hours and I thought that was pretty good considering I was so nervous and stressed out.

  3. We had an evening wedding.  We needed to be at the venue by 4:45 in the afternoon.  I got up about 7:00 a.m., and made breakfast for myself, my fiance and our house guests.  My hair appointment was at 10:00 a.m., a 45-minute drive away.  I did my own make-up.  We both got 8 hours of sleep and felt good on our wedding day, all through the reception ending at midnight.  It's a stressful enough day without adding in lack of sleep.  I recommend plenty of sleep and a good breakfast, with some lunch or snack before the ceremony.

  4. WOW! Major props to you and the hubby.

Scares me though! Our wedding is at 10am! So early! Any tips on how to get everything done that morning in such a short amount of time?

I agree with you though that it's better to just get it done. Our reception will be over by 3:30 which will give us time to change and go to our hotel by the beach, have dinner, etc etc etc, and have a good nights sleep before we leave on our cruise the next morning!
