  2. That star that comes out early in the south is Jupiter.  Here in Montana it's not dark enough for stars until 9:30.

Stars come out when it's dark, so you need to wait until your sky is dark.  Being close to lights wash out smaller stars, so the darker, the better.

  3.   Usually, u will see the moon and/or Jupiter first, since these are the 2 brightest objects in our sky now. To see stars, u will have to wait until it gets darker.

  4. When the light goes off, are you blonde?

  5. Depends on when the sun sets and the sky starts to become dark.  The sky will enter its darkest phase 3 or 4 hours after sunset and the atmosphere will be clearest in the hours after 1am  - so thats the best time to look.

  6. The stars are always there. As soon as it gets dark enough the differential in the light levels makes them more apparent.

  7. So maybe sunset is 8:30.  Civil twilight ends when the Sun goes 6 degrees below the horizon.  Nautical twilight ends when the Sun goes 12 degrees below the horizon.  Astronomical night ends when the Sun goes 18 degrees below the horizon.

It's a pain to calculate. Computers are really good at this sort of thing.  Register on Heavens-above, and use the Sun data link. Registering lets you save your location on Earth.  They don't spam you.  It's free.
