  1. I always had to be in bed at least 8 hours before I had to get up.  I mean, 8 hours is the recommended amount of sleep, so I never argued when I was a teenager.  When my kids are at that age, I'll do the same thing.  If they need to be up by 7:00, then they go to bed no later than 11:00

  2. Teens don't need bed times

They are old enough to know what is best for them, and by not doing so you let them make their own choices. You go to bed when your tired, not because you're told to.

  3. 10pm weekdays, 11 or 11:30 weekends up to the age of 16, 1am after that on weekends.   The weekday time should still be 10 for the good of their health and school performance.

  4. depends on how old they are! 13-15; 9 or 10 on wknights and 10-11 on wkends 16-17; 10-11 wknights and idk wkends depends on if they are going out or not but i would say not passed 12 im 17 no bed time for me i go to sleep whenever!!

  5. School nights - 9pm.

    Weekend nights - under 14&15 - 9pm...16 - 10pm...17 - 11pm...18 - midnight

  6. My teen is nearly 14.  I think he needs to be in bed by 9 o'clock.  I am a teacher and I see sleepy kids at school.  I think kids need to sleep as much as you can get them too unless you have a teen that is lazy and won't get up.  I don't have that problem.  I have read that kids grow most when they are asleep so that is another reason I like to get kids in bed as early as I can.

  7. My mom lets me go to bed whenever. I think she would prefer I went to bed at 11. She goes to sleep first so she doesn't really have a say.

  8. ok well i dont have a bed time i just go to bed whenever im tired on school night i go to bed around 11 and on weekends and during the summer i go to bed around 3 or 4  lol

  9. 10:00 on week nights during the school year.On the weekends... probably before midnight.

  10. Depends on the kid and what time they get up. I'd suggest at least 7 hours sleep. 8 is better. If the kid gets up at 6, that means 11 pm.

  11. Weekdays/                               Weekends

    Ages 4-6>8:00/                       Ages 4-6>8:30

    Ages 7-9>8:30/                      Ages 7-9>9:00

    Ages 10-11>9:00/                   Ages 10-11>9:30

    Ages 12-13>9:30/                  Ages 12-13>10:00

    Ages 14-16>10:00/                Ages 14-16>10:30

    Ages 17-18>10:30/               Ages  17-18>11:00

  12. Well i being a teen say 11:30 on school nights(weeknights) and whenever they feel like it on weekends...but if you have to have a time set I would say 2:30...I mean come on...its a teen...give em' a little break!

  13. I'd say 10:00 or so, assuming they get up at 6... but by the time they're 14 or older they ought to be responsible enough to go to bed on their own...hopefully early enough to get a proper night's sleep.

  14. i am 14 and i basically stay up until whenever. I usually go to bed around 2 or 3 on weeknights which is so bad- i don't recommend it because I am really tired all the time. I would say on weeknights shoot for no later than 11 or 12 and then weekends should be relaxed and they can go to bed whenever they want unless there is something really important the next day.

  15. I wouldn't give my teen a bedtime but I would enforce a curfew. They soon will be adults and should be trusted enough to make a few adults decisions.

If they prove to be irresponsible, like missing school, then crack down on their ***

  16. I never had a bedtime, I was always told I can go to bed whenever I want but I HAVE to go to school the next morning. I guess my mom figured if I went to bed too late I'd learn my lesson by being super tired the next morning.

  17. my son has to be in his room by 9:30,

or he wont wake up in the morning.

since i still have to yell 15 times before he wakes up

im guessin he stays awake till around midnight

friday & saturday, he has to be in his room @ midnight

  18. as late as their friends parents let them stay out so theyre not the kid who ruins everyone elses night by having to leave 2 hours before everyone else

  19. my 15 year old son had to go to bed at 10pm on school nights

1/2 the time he rarely made it until 10 and was going to bed at 9pm

My 12 year old daughter has the same bedtime!

I guess it all depends on what time you need to get up for school too. Some kids have to get on the bus 1 1/2 hours before school even starts.

while others can sleep in for that  hour and get to school in time if they walk or get a ride.

It just depends on the person too..My son requires a lot of sleep and my daughter doesn't!

But sleep is important especially during the school year!!

  20. During the school year, getting my ap and honors coursework done without sacrificing quality is more important than sleeping...

  21. weekdays-around 10

    weeknights-around midnight.

    thats my curfew.

    :D

  22. it depends on how old the student is...usually for weeknights 10:30-11ish. on weekends (not including sunday) 12/1ish

  23. School nights i have to be IN bed by 11pm..my mom could really care less if i went to sleep at 11 or not..

Week-ends i can stay up till when ever.. i just cant be cranky the next day or my mom will send me to bed at 11..

Summer is the same as week-ends when ever...

  24. well i would say 11 on weeknights for teen 13 and up

and on the weekend just let them stay up till they fall asleep

    cmon it the weekend lol

  25. I got bed at 11 on school nights and whenever I feel like it on weekends. I don't have a bed time during the summer.

  26. I think on school nights, depending on what time he has to get up in the morning for school, 10-11 is reasonable.

On the weekends, i agree with you saying whenever is reasonable because they can sleep as late as they want.

  27. on weeknights at least 9 then on weekends it shouldnt matter, as long as they get 9 hrs of sleep everyday

  28. I don't think it's a question of time, but a question of the maturity level of the child. For weeknights, I'd say 10:30 is good. For weekends, that's between you and your child. My aunt used to let her kid stay out as late as they wanted, as long as the kid called in every hour or so so that she knew he wasn't dead in a ditch somewhere. Hmm...

  29. I am a teen and during school terms my mother makes sure I hit the sack by 1:00 am.

  30. well i'm a teen myself...but my parents set a time for me too..for Sunday-Thursday (when school starts) it's 21:30....and for Friday-Saturday it's anytime..

  31. When I was a teenager, I had to be in my house by 10:00 on school nights and in my room by 11:00. my parents never told me to go to bed at a certain time, which I always really appreciated. although I usually would get in bed around 11 anyways, i liked that they accepted the fact that i was old enough and mature enough to decide what time i could go to bed on my own. Your teen knows that he or she has school the next day so if she stays up until 2 am one night, he or she will really regret it that day in school and will adjust her sleeping time accordingly. This way, it seems like it was her decision to go to bed earlier rather than having a parent setting a bedtime, which will make her try that much harder to stay up later.
