  1. my 5 yr old goes to bed at 8 o'clock - sometimes a little later when she's not going to school (just finished up 2nd yr of preschool and getting ready for kindergarten) - shen school is in session, she MUST go to bed at 8 and she knows that and is ok with it.

  2. Ours all go to bed between 7:30 and 8 in order of age.

  3. Bed time should be @ 7:30 lights off @ 8:00pm N Children tend 2 get tired fast! if you have time try to take her to the Park in the evenings so she can run and play and scream when you get home bathe/shower her, serve her dinner to eat and watch cartoons wit her/ start reading her favorite bed time story book next thing you know she is fallen asleep or will say she is exhausted/tired wants to go to Bed and its night night time for her =:} Gd Luck!

  4. Well my three year-old is asleep by seven every night, he even asks for Pooh Bear and goes in by himself by half six.....your little one won't be lonely, she'll benefit from the early nights and you'll have some quality time to yourself xx

  5. Hello, my son is 3 and he is at bed at 19:30 on weekdays and 20:00 on weekends.  Also depends if has an afternoon nap, if not he is sleeping by 19:00

I got a 9mnth old to look forward to as well

  6. About 8.

Try and get her to play physical games after school, e.g. trampolining etc, this should knacker her out for sleeping at night.  Glad youre such a caring parent.

  7. Between 7.30 and 8pm

We make sure our son has a full day. Plenty of exercise, outdoor play, and activities.

He is usually very tired and ready for bed after his evening bath and bedtime stories.

    xx

  8. im trying to tell my 4yr old its time for bed now,hes had his milk, cleaned his teeth but hes telling me its not night time as its still light outside.no later than 9 as hes got nursery tomorrow afternoon

  9. As long as shes quiet shes ok. Shes not screaming or crying is she? Theres no harm in her lying there doing nothing, shes at least resting.

  10. My daughter is four and a half.

Bedtime is 7pm regardless of the day of the week.  I don't hold with later bedtimes at the weekends at her age, especially as she still wakes up at 7am regardless.  (This might change once she is in school full time)  She has a story, we have a bit of a chat and 'down time' then lights out at 7.30pm.

Even if your daughter is lying in bed awake she is resting so I don't see the harm in that.

  11. my sister is 4 omg shes up so late like till 11 lmao sometimes she gets tired though x

  12. I'd say you're timing of 7-9 is just fine.  Tough love doesn't mean that you have to put her to bed, and that you have to go into the other room and leave her alone.  If she isn't tired, you can take advantage of the evening hours to read her bedtime stories, giving you both more quality time together, and boosting her vocabulary at the same time.  Lights out should be 9 PM, but if you want to read to her before then, or she'd like to look at picture books until she drifts off, she should be allowed to do so in her bed until lights out.  My husband laughed when I bought a book shelf and a set of animal related encyclopedias for our two and four year olds.  They were full of bright colorful pictures, and there were thousands of pages in the set of 20 books.  Bed time would come, and I would read to them for a while, and then go off to do something, while they continued to flip pages until they grew tired.  They usually turned out the lights on their own, or I would drop by at 9 to turn them out.  Frequently from eight to nine o'clock, I'd hear shouted requests, mommy, "What number book has the tigers ?", or "I can't find elephant in the L book. "  They never felt like they were alone.  They knew that I might be in the next room, but I was only a question away should they need a helpful answer or useful piece of advice.  Libraries will loan you a lifetime of picture books, and make the time you spend together or alone, quality time.

  13. No earlier than 9 pm as there is no reason for it.  People that do earlier bedtimes usually do it because they want their own alone time so they may put the kids down at 7 just so they have a couple of hours of alone time so it is more for them than the kids.  For a 4-5 year old they usually require about 10 hrs sleep but i know my 5 year old needs 8 hrs only then he is wide awake.  Going to bed before it is really dark outside makes it hard for them to sleep plus knowing you are still up and about makes it hard on them as well.  My boys go to bed at 9 pm during school time (preschool) because they get up by 9 am to catch the bus.  My 5 year old starts kindergarten this year and will need to be up at 7:30 but he can go to bed at 9 and he still gets up at 6-7 am so the 9 pm bedtime still works.  Now that summer is here though and they don't have to be up early we do an 11 pm bedtime which of course on the weekends when we are busy doing family stuff turns into more like midnight but they still get all the sleep they need to function.

  14. My daughter is 4, she's 5 in three weeks too - she is in bed most nights by 8 and asleep within about 10 mins.

  15. set a time that works.... she needs about 10 hours a night of sleep and a nap in the afternoon wouldn't hurt. She will learn that when it is bedtime, it is bedtime. No biggie. She can lay in there all she wants, she will go to sleep when she is ready. It's good for her to depend and rely on herself and be ok with laying alone in there. The time that all 5 of my kids are in bed in the evening IS MY TIME.... I would not trade it for anything !!

  16. My almost 2 year old goes to bed at 7:30 every night and my 5 year old goes to bed right at 8. They need a routine for when they start school and have to get up super early..

As for her not being tired.. Take her outside and wear her out, give her a bath then read a few books before bed to get that routine going.

    Hope this helps!

  17. As with all young children, they need a routine.  My 5 year old has tea about 5, has a bit of a play then a bath.  Followed by chill out time, brush teeth then story in bed.  Normally down by 7.30 - 8.00.  Asleep in 5 minutes.

All kids are different, but it's worked with mine.  Good luck.

  18. Same prob as i had with my two!!!

Got to be cruel and consistant.

i guess more of a routine is poss needed.

    Good luck!!!

  19. whenever she wants to.

  20. she shares with her older sister, who's almost 10, and on school nights they both go to bed at 7.30pm, with the eldest allowed to read for half an hour. I think the light being on while the eldest is reading reassures my 4 year old and she always falls asleep before the lights go off at 8pm.

  21. My 3&5 YR OLD NIECES have always gone  TO BED AT 7-7:30. 5 yr old has just started staying up till about 8, tho. i think it does her no harm to lay there and relax..or just try putting her down 1/2 an hr later.

  22. 6 oclock

  23. between 8 - 9 shez in her bed...yea at time it duz happen that she just stays up arnd for an hour..and den finally fall asleep!

We should always maintain such a routine and not fall senstive over this thing and say ohok...if u not sleepy , come downstairs n play o watch tv..

If she/he cant sleep rite away..they WILL fall asleep eventually!! :)

  24. Children tend to need 12 hours sleep or rest at night. I would put her to bed at 7pm, if she doesn't go straight to sleep at least she will be getting some rest.

  25. When our daughter was 4 years old(she is now 6) she went to bed at 8:15. Bedtime routine would start at 7:45. It would consist of a bath or shower, getting PJs on, and reading a book. We would shut the lights off(except for her night light) at 8:20.
