  1. 2-3 hours prior.

  2. Usually a couple hrs. before. Get settled in ya place. Break out the binoculars and check out all the nuts, in the infield ...[wink]

  3. At least a couple hrs before the green flag drops.

If you want to do some shoping at the merch trailers and checking out  all the stuff outside the track, give yourself plenty of time time.  Also youll want to get to your seat a little early to not fight off the crowd and to see some of the pre race activites.

  4. I'm from Indianapolis, home to the Racing capital of the world and if its the Indy 500, I'm there days ahead of time as its like a small Mardi Gras but for the Brickyard, as early as I can on that day.

  5. Depends on how excited you are about the race and track. You don't have to tailgate but there is always something going on. At Michigan we try to get there at least 4 hours early (because of the traffic)..Daytona around 3 hrs early..Indy (my home town) about 5 hrs early. It depends where your seats are also, infield or seats outside. If you have seats across from the pits there is always action going on. Your time should adjust to what you want to do before the race. Trial and error. That's how I learned. Missed out on things I wanted to do before the race because of bad timing on my part. A lot of good answers here..so, I hope all of the answers help you decide and Have Fun

  6. It's best to get in the day before the race starts.  You don't want to hit major traffic.

  7. When I went to Loudon we camped a few miles away. So on Sunday we drove down about 7am. We parked in a nice spot right near entrance of turn 3. So we left coolers and stuff in truck. We walked around merchandise and all that stuff. Got things to eat, went to raceday for about an hour and around noon went to get coolers and things and went to our seats. Thats when the pre show was going on. Then there was always something to watch up untill 2pm green flag. So I would get there early if you want to see everything..But if not, at least by noon for pre show. By the way..What track are you going to, if you are?

  8. Usually first thing in the morning when the track opens.  Yeah there is a lot of time to kill but you can always find something to do.  That way, you will not have to park miles away from the track.
