  1. What time does a cheque clear..?      11.23 am...

  2. will probably be tuesday.

  3. depends on what type of account you have.

nationwide flex-account card only 5 days

nationwide flex-account cheque book 3 days

    halifax cardcash account 6 days

halifax standard current account 3 days

  4. Up to 5 working days so possibly not until Tuesday.

It all depends on who the issuing bank is and who the receiving bank is.

If both are the same AND the same branch it can clear in 2 days

If both are the same but different branches possibly 3 days

If the banks are different it can take 5 days.

That's why the banks say .'..up to 5 days'.

The 'new' balance will show from the time that you pay the cheque in but the 'Cleared' balance is what matters.

  5. if it was to clear today it would of done already, also a cheque normally takes 5 working days to clear even tho it shows up in ur balance.

  6. 3-5 BUSINESS DAYS. THE SAME DAY IF IT WAS A CHECK FROM THAT BANK.

  7. probably be monday.

  8. 3 working days usually

  9. it usually takes about five working days.

it will show up in your balance but you cant take it out until the days are up :) its so the banks know that its not going to bounce!

    hope i helped :)

  10. Usually between 3-5 days normally.

However, i bank with First Direct and i get paid from my fathers company by cheque every month, have done for the past 4 years and i pay the cheque in and get a text message to say credit above..blah..blah.. and although the cheque hasn't cleared they still allow me to draw against it but charge me an interest rate for doing so and if there was a situation where the cheque bounced which is extremely unlikely, i would have to repay the monies taken.

A good system i think, but perhaps its different game for company cheques.

For me, it means that, although i put a cheque in on Tuesday, if it hasn't cleared at least i will still be able to get money out over the weekend.. hurrah!

  11. 3-5 working days in my past knowledge.
