What time does your Postman deliver your mail on a Saturday?Do you think the Royal Mail has got better/worse?

I really miss the good old days when it was regular as clockwork!

Ours normally arrives just after noon on a Saturday but it seems to me we seem to be getting no mail at all on a Saturday much more often than before. Is this just my imagination? During the week it now arrives at about 11 or 12 whereas it used to arrive shortly after 8am.

Yes I think Royal Mail is worse than it used to be but it's still very good and very cheap when you compare it to other parcels carriers. I suppose it's being put on a paying basis, ready for when its monopoly is broken and that's why we're now only getting a four star service instead of the old five star service.

ha i posted a question similar to this a while ago. It drives me amd, the post doesnt arrive until 1pm here...sometimes later. I remember beong a,kid heading to the bus at 7.45am and the milk was already on the door step and the postman was delivering the post!

I sound old, but i'm only 24¬!! Thats how c**p theve got and in such a short space of time

I beleive they are getting WORSE !

i used to get it the same time every single day at 6am.

and now it keeps getting later and later.

i missed it how it used to  be good too !

i cant believe they are slacking off like this..

i dont believe that its all in what time it gets delivered though,

its the quality of it that matters,

in that case its GREAT !

maybe exept for one time, my parsel got delivered and it was smashed all over.

i reported them for that.

and sometimes my letters go missing, im not sure what is happening.

maybe someone is being light fingered?

or maybe they are just being slack again.

ahh the good old days when post came on the exact same time every day.

I think the RM do a fantastic job - they deliver millions of letters everday.  I run my own business from home and send parcels all over the world on a daily basis - In all that time I have had one parcel go missing.  My delivery postman for cargo makes sure that I am last on his list for deliveries to give me time to get home from my employed work to receive parcels - how nice is that!  I have no complaints.  I still find it amazing that I can post a letter in my local post box at 5pm one day and it will arrive hundreds of miles away on someone elses dormat the next day - that's not a bad service.

My post arrives mid morning - I do miss the early morning post though - especially when it's my birthday - I have to wait all day to get my cards!

We used to get the mail by 09- 00 AM now you never no. I try now not to use snail mail. I rather use EMAIL most times you get the answer the same day or a reply. I feel sorry for the postie it not there fault its down to the management. I now get my mail on Saturday about midday. Its c**p to what it used to be.

Saturday is better than the rest of the week.

We normally get post on a Saturday before midday.

The rest of the week its at 3pm.

The post isn't what it was to be honest, but the world has changed.

Strangely enough, ours are delivered earlier on a Saturday (about 8.30) than during the week (anytime between 10 and 12), they must go around quicker so they can get off earlier on a Saturday!

my mail comes anytime even 2-00 in the afternoon. stamps and prices go up but delivery is rubbish now. good old days we had 2 delivery's and knew when postman arrived. now there are no times just luck to see the postman.

The fact is that someone is first on the round and others are last. They start work with sorting at around 5am. They start deliveries as soon as the sorting is done. Ours always arrives at about 09.30 but depends if the regular man is on holiday. Then we get a postman that does the extra round after his own and is paid overtime for doing so. It is still a good service but they are pricing themselves out with every increase. I believe that if the postage cost was reduced then more people would use the system.

totaly agree i live in wales my post varies from 11 am to about 2.30 pm i think its rediculous what happened to the days where the post was on the mat when you got up in the morning.ive also had lots of mail go missing so royal mail has definately got worse.

Actually, our postman is always much earlier on a Saturday than he is in the week! Monday to Friday, its anything between 10.30 and noon, but on Saturdays, he's always here before 8.00.A.M!

Strangely my Saturday delivery is the earliest in the week, generally between 09:00 - 09:30. During the week it's between 13:00 - 14:00.

Yup its a lot worse now, I remember when you got your post before you went to work, ours is terrible - not just Saturday we normally get our post delivered around 1.00pm everyday, and I live in a town!!,

Between 8&9am. During the week the earliest time is around10 the latest3in the afternoon.
