OK this is the first time im watching the olympics. and i have heard that its is very amazing. and i want to see wat the opening ceromony,

and how long dose it last?

The Olympics started Wednesday August 6th and run through Sunday August 24.

The Opening Ceremonies are Friday August 8th (yes two days after the first events get under way).

The Closing Ceremonies are Sunday August 24.

You can watch the Opening Ceremonies this Friday on NBC with coverage beginning at 7:30 PM. There is much fan fare and it's very entertaining to the masses. (I sort of compare it to the commercials during the Super Bowl. Many people that watch the Super Bowl are not football fans but are entertained by the commercials.)

The host committee puts a lot of time into putting a local flair into the opening and closing ceremonies. You'll see a lot of the Chinese culture integrated into these shows. It runs from 7:30 PM to 12:00 Midnight.

The following channels will be broadcasting parts of the games:

NBC (the exclusive broadcaster that's selling rights to the other stations)

CNBC

MSNBC

USA

Universal HD

Telemundo

NBC Olympic Basketball Channel

NBC Olympic Soccer Channel

The opening ceremony will be on august 8 beijing, China. On the 8th mounth 2008. The opening ceremonies will be held in the birds nest at 8 oclock (eastern time) and end August 24th. The tourch will be lit on the 8th minute.

The olympics is a waste of time. It really sucks and fills the airwaves with boring sports. All these "athletes" waste their lives fliping and jumping all over to get a freaking medal. I don't know when it starts and i don't care. I do know i cant wait for it to be over.

The opening ceremonies are on NBC Fri night at 7:30. It lasts approximately 4 hrs.
