What time is the best time to drive in metro areas?

I have to drive in the Twin Cities (Minnesota) on Thursday, and I get so paranoid with lots of traffic. I'm not necessarily a bad driver, just way too paranoid and that makes me a bad driver!

I was thinking of leaving at 1230pm, so i'd get to the cities around 130-2pm. Does this sound good or would it be better to drive when it is around 7pm?

Normally any time between 2am and 5am is good.

The earlier time frame will give you more daylight  and you might also go on-line to www.anywho.com  and type in an alternate route  that is less traveled such as secondary roads   lots of luck  !!!!!!!!!
