  1. At exactly 7:30 pm, your local time, you can use your wayback machine to watch the whole event.  You'll be home, and relaxed.  And since it's the wayback machine, you can delay a bit and have dinner first.  And if you need to take a break, you can hit the pause button.

    You could do that now, probably.

    The good news is that though the eclipse is over, you didn't miss it.  The closest place you could be where you could have missed it is North Eastern Canada.  The rest of us did not get an opportunity to miss it.

  2. No, and look for other questions before making your own. There is no solar eclipse tonight in California, it is only visible in certain places on the Earth. A lunar eclipse however, covers a hemisphere before being over.

  3. Ian;

    1) The solar eclipse happened this morning.  It started about 6AM eastern time, and was finished by 10AM.

    2) The total eclipse was not visible anywhere in the United States.

    3) The only places in the U.S. that even saw a partial eclipse were the extreme northeastern corners of Maine, and possibly some of the Aleutian Islands.

    California was not in the path of the eclipse, so you won't see anything today, or tonight, or at any time until, at the very earliest, 2017.

  4. Please read the exact same questions that are being asked. The solar eclipse is done with, it was only visible in Canada, Siberia and northern China.
