What time of day is the best to fill up your tank? For example, would it be better to fill it up in the morning oppose to the night? I read somewhere in the forum that the morning is ideal since the liquid is COLD, which make it more dense (more $ for your wallet). Also when the delivery truck pumping gas into the ground will accumulated dirt in the ground, which the first group of people will accumulate those dirt? Does it make a difference?

  1. doesn't really matter.  the pump is actually designed to account for all that stuff, so it won't really matter.  besides, if it's a below ground tank, the gas in the tank is at a constant temperature, so it hasn't expanded except maybe about 2 feet of it caught in a hose.

  2. Buy it early in the morning, also dont fuel up while they are getting a gasoline delivery, the fuel pouring into the tank mixes up the sediment meaning that theres that much extra c**p to clog your fuel filter

  3. If you want to get the most gas for your money, buy your gas early in the morning. Gas expands when it gets hot and this results in a gallon of hot gas having less energy in it than a gallon of cold gas (because there are fewer gas molecules in the hot gas). If you buy your gas in the morning, the gas will be at its coolest and densest so you'll get the most energy for your dollar. The difference is only a couple of percent, but it adds up over time.

and for people sthat say you want notice a diffrence have no right to complain when it goes up a few cents.

  4. in the mornings is always the best time to fill up if possible.

when deliver trucks are pumping gas it might be a good idea to drive on down the street to another station.  Sometimes when the truck is pumping gas into the tanks, it can stir up sediment in the tanks, and may take a couple hours for this drift back to the bottom.

  5. IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!!

Fuel is stored in underground tanks. So the temperature 15' underground stays pretty much the same day or night. So all your gonna see is the first couple of gallons of fuel sitting in the pump above ground will be warmer, but it isn't going to make any difference.

  6. the difference is so miniscule ,you wont notice the savings.

  7. Best to fill up early in the morning or late evening and if you see a fuel truck putting gas into the tanks when you pull in to get gas I would go to another station.

  8. don,t stop and get gas when the truck is filling up the tanks. when you see a truck there, go to another station, because they stir up the dirt in the tank and when you pump the gas into your car, your getting some of the dirt and enough times like that, it will plug up your gas filter and the injectors. i refuse to pump gas at a station where there,s a truck filling up the tanks.
