  1. It depends on when the race starts & when the gates open. We've been to the Oct race in Atlanta for the last 3 years. We usually get there around 5 or 5:30 am & get an excellent parking spot.. 2years ago we were late & got there around 6:30 & you could tell a major difference in traffic & parking.

In Daytona last July we didn't even leave our motel until about 12:30pm (we were only 5 miles away though) and got a decent parking spot. Of course the (then) Busch race was rained out Friday & run on Sat before the Cup race. So I am sure traffic was a little heavy for what it would have been.

So for us it's dependent upon when the race starts.

  2. depends how much walking you want to do.........a couple of hours isn't bad..........

  3. 120 minutes !!!

  4. We live about 50miles from Talladega and we leave home about 7am.  It takes about an hour to get there and get parked. Traffic gets really bad between 9 and 10. We park in a lot across the street and just walk right in. It takes 3-4 hours to get home after the race, however. I guess that's the price you pay. It's so worth it.

  5. three to 7 days before(either in the infield or external camping) so you can party and have the greatest time of your life with your NASCAR family!!!!!!!!

  6. Right after the checkered flag drops.

  7. you should get there the night before qualifying and leave the morning after the sunday race. its the only way to do it right,

  8. As soon as the track opens!  Get a better parking place, then get out and walk around.  There are lots of things to do before the race, driver trailers selling merchandise, vendors selling food and drinks - that includes breakfast food, and non-alcoholic drinks right along with the beer.  You can also go inside, find your seats, and watch a lot of the pre-race stuff.  Go and enjoy yourself!  Make it an all-day event

  9. I'm not sure what time you should get there...but it might be wise to leave early if the race isn't going that great, because traffic will be horrible. Went to Bristol back in 98 for the first time took us 3 hours to go 10 miles. We lived about 150 miles from the track and it was the daytime race and we didn't get home till around 3 am. (I don't know if it's that bad everywhere)

  10. Depends on the track.  But, there is plenty to do at all tracks with simulators and souvineer trailors.  To avoid sitting in traffic, I always try to get to the track early in the morning and make a day of it.

  11. Get there early and start drinking!!!

  12. 3-5 hours minimum. Check out all the souvenir trailers and inter-active stuff they have. The best part is meeting a bunch of cool NASCAR fans.
