What time should I get to the train station?

I'm leaving from Stazione termini Rome to Paris and my train leaves at 6:30pm what time should I get to the station it only takr 10 minutes from my hotel. Do you have to be there early like at the airport?

I would get there at least 20 minutes early to allow time to book your ticket, find out which platform the train leaves from, etc.
