  1. no later than 9pm is what i think is a good time.

  2. when I was 9 I had to be in bed at 8:30

  3. i have five kids ages 18,17,16,15 and pregnant.my kids at 9 went bed at 8 but if good let them watch eastender then put a bed. u need ya space with ya wife or husband .i hope this helps u good luck.by the way the kids had a tv in there bedrooms thats way they stayed in their room when put upstairs. give them books to read in bed or colour they will put them down when they tied

  4. 8 - 8:30 (depending on when they have to get up of course. Mine has to get up at 7:30). I'm startled at some of the answers here. Mine would be asleep on the floor before 10!

Mine mostly go to sleep when put to bed - because they know that if they mess about for half an hour, they simply have to go to bed half an hour earlier in the future to allow for the messing about time.

  5. When they're tired.

  6. My daughter is 9 in 2 years.

    I have a stepdaughter who is 9.

Me and my Husband let her go to bed about 9pm-9:20pm

  7. my 9 year old daughter goes to bed at 8 on school nights. and nine on other nights, once in  a while as a treat ill let her stay up and finish a movie or something until 10....and when i tell her its bedtime, its time to go to sleep  not mess around and read or watch tv or anything else..

  8. On a schoold day I would say by 8:30 is a good time.  On a weekend maybe a little later, 9/9:30 as long as they will sleep a little later.  My son has night terrors and the only thing that makes him better is the sound of tv or radio in his room.  So I put the TV on and he is usually asleep within 20 minutes.

  9. 9 year olds need at least 9-10 hours of sleep....so adjust accordingly..

Mine goes to bed between 8 and 8:30, and gets up at 7...she's 6...

  10. 8-8:30 sounds good and have them get ready for the next day before bed also try having their toys downstairs.....also try checking on them every 10 minutes until their asleep

  11. I think the appropriate time would be 8:30 - 9:00.

  12. between 8:30 and 9pm

don't have kids but I always went to sleep when I was sent to bed  (mostly LOL)

  13. I'd think a child that age would be best in bed no later than 9PM.   Whatever time your child wakes up, count back 10hrs (young children need at least 8-10hrs of sleep).  You can fine tune the time according to your child's sleeping habits by slowly reducing the time by 15-30min intervals.

My kids are 6 and 7.  I make them both go to bed at 8PM but the 7yr old is allowed to read in bed until 8:30PM... she's been doing that since she was 6yrs old.  Forcing her to sleep at 8PM was too early and she'd fool around.  But my 6yr old can't handle the extra half hour.  Many nights he's ready for Sleepy Town at 7PM.  So def monitor your child's needs for what works best for him/her.

  14. my daughter is almost nine and her bed is 8-8:30 on school nights and on the weekend and summer its 9-10 but when she plays hard she will fall asleep anytime anywhere

  15. what time does he/she need to get up? it should be about 9-10 hours before she needs to wake up. my daughter is home-schooled so she wakes up at about 7:15 i have her in bed around 9:00. hope this helps.  also she gets allot of activity and really gets tired by 9:00 so she usually falls asleep quick.

  16. My daughter is 9 and goes to bed by 9:00 p.m. Anything later then she is slow to move the next day and crabby. (on school nights..weekends can sleep in a little bit so not so bad)

My son is 12 and goes to bed by 9:30 on school nights. I feel children shouldn't stay up late on school nights, get the rest they need so they can be well rested for learning.

Sometimes my kids will talk when they go to bed (boys share a room) and I do allow them about 10 minutes to do so. If they keep talking after they are told the 10 minutes is up then they know they have to go to bed 10 minutes earlier (they get quiet because they don't want to go to bed earlier the next night)

  17. Around 9:45 to 10:45 pm... Is when we used to go to bed, my parents would turn off all the lights and t.v's and it would usually take any where from 10-15 mins for us to fall asleep.

I think children who have something to entertain them will find ways of avoiding sleep. So just make sure their comfortable and bored, and they will usually fall asleep quickly!

  18. 9 seems like a good bedtime for a 9 year old child.

  19. ready for bed at 8 lights out and in bed by 8:30...is good if they get up around 6:30...maybe in bed by 9 in they don't have to get up till 7

  20. For a 9 yr old I would say about 8-8:30pm. Especially if they are having to get up early to go to school. If its a weekend of summer break I wold let my 9 yr stay up later til 10-11pm. My son and daughter are 7 and 4 and we put them to bed between 7-7:30 pm. My son falls right to sleep but my daughter tends to mess around for about 1/2 an hour b4 she falls asleep.

  21. about 8 or 8:30. mine alwats messes around a bit before going to sleep.

  22. my bedtime was 9pm since i was in kindergarten

so i think 9 is a good bedtime

  23. 9:00 My kids had a set bed time since they were babies. The go to sleep right away. If they don't I know that something is wrong like they are not feeling well. Sometimes if they are tired they will ask to be put to bed before there bed time. I never have to fight them.

  24. It depends on what time the nine year old gets up in the moring

My 8 year old goes to bed at nine, but she gets up at seven, for a bus at 8:04am

I have a friend that 8 year old goes to bed at 8, because she gets up at six, for daycare at seven, school at 8:20

It depends on when they get up, and what is right for you

  25. kids need about 8 hours of sleep at a minimum, otherwise their immune system is prune to crashing. if she gets less than that. Even though the minimum is 8 hours, it is good to get more. 8 or 9 is a good bed time. And yes, all kids don't want to go to bed when they have to.
