  2. Hi Ashley!

You'll be able to see the total eclipse on TV between 5:30 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time tomorrow.  The precise moment of totality depends on where the camera is located, with the later times for cameras placed in China.

None of the eclipse is visible on the ground in the US except for far northern Maine and the north slope of Alaska, which will see a bit of the partial eclipse.

  3. The eclipse will not be able to be seen as a total solar eclipse within the U.S. directly due to the fact that the umbra which will occur in the night about 10:00 p.m., or so, will occur in Russia, somewhere in Siberia, I believe.  Most of it is gonna' occur within the area that usually sees the midnight sun.

The "midnight sun" is a phenomina that can be seen as a day that never ends, it is just as light at night as it is in the day!  So, I have seen a total solar eclipse, as a matter of fact, I've been in one.  They say that if you stay still one will be overhead of you at any time on Earth about every 300 years, or so.  So, I stayed still and it occurred in the late 80's in AL and I was there, it was awsome, it truly is as dark as night in the middle of the day, actually afternoon is when it happened.  But it was dark as night.   And I walked out in it.

  4. The eclipe is not visible in the United States, except juts a little bit in Northern Maine and Northern Alaska.
