What to SAY when asked where you BOUGHT something from?

what do u tell ppl when they ask u where u got ur clothing, bag or shoes from but u dont want to give out the information

today was my bro's party and all the guest was asking about my dress and i didnt want to answer them. and it was hard.

so what should i say??? if it ever happens again

U can say from a clothing store (in the mall maybe) but u forgot the name!! it happens.

You could say you got it as a gift, and you don't know where they got it from.

Or...

You could say that you bought it so long ago, and never wore it, so you forgot?

I know they're not great reasons. But um, I use them, sometimes.

Say "oh I got it from the thrift store" - they'll be like what?? LOL - or just say Target or Walmart...

You just say, "Thank you for the compliment, and I never reveal my sources".  Honestly is the best policy, honey, and if you say that enough, people will stop asking.  I used to buy my clothes from the salvation army thrift store - got so many marvelous items there.  I never wanted to reveal that was my source.  I also used to shop at second hand shops.  When you don't have money to spend on clothes, you do what you have to do.  So, I just say something like, "thank you so very much, but that is my secret" or "thanks honey, you look gorgeous too."  and if they ask again, say, "that is my little secret" and give them a little smile.

It wouldn't bother me personally, but then I'd probably tell them that I got it from a jumble sale (and it could well be true!).

I'm with Ricardo here - he's got some good answers.  "I never reveal my sources" is a good one - slightly mysterious and slightly witty at the same time.

Yeah I hate when people ask me that. I always just say someone got it for me, eg. best friend, family member. It solves everything then they don't ask how much it was, what other colours did it come it and all that annoying stuff. So yeah just say you didn't get it and someone got it for you as a gift =)
