What to ask for while getting makeover?

What do u get done while u get a makeover i'm getting oe and i don't know what to ask for ? I know this might be a stupid question but i need help

What is the occasion? I'd say ask for a smokey eye and nude lip.. that's always a great look that goes with any outfit for any occasion.

ask for specifically what you want... remember they are working for you. Tell the makeup artist if you want a day, night, work, etc kind of look and tell her what makeup you normally wear. If you don't normally wear makeup or you want to wear more makeup then you normally do; then ask the makeup artist for advice and her opinion.

Do you want a particular look?  I'm assuming you're going to a department store makeup counter.  If you're new to makeup, ask for a simple natural look.  Ask them which colors and tones would look bst on you, and ask them to tell you how to apply the products as they go.  If you've been using makeup for awhile and want a new look, tell them what colors you alread use and ask them for some new fall suggestions.  Or maybe a more dramatic look?  Just tell them what you want, and be as specific as possible.  

If it's for a special occasion, tell them what it is and what color you're wearing so they can complement that.
