What to bring on a 2 week trip?

I'll be going to New York, New Jersey, and Virginia Beach. It will most likely be very hot and i'm trying to plan all the details, you know ipods, phone chargers, summer work, everything. I'm a girl, any suggestions?

A fashionable mini backpack that can hold all of these (preferably one with credit card slots and wallet-organization in a side pocket so as to eliminate the need for a wallet):  

High SPF sunscreen or sunblock.  A wide-brim hat (at least 4-inch brim).  Blotting tissues, regardless of whether you plan on wearing makeup or none.  It is sooo humid there that you will need the blotting tissues to keep your face matte.  Portable Kleenex-tissue packets to dry off the sweat off your neck and back.  A small, portable, battery-operated fan.  Or a small, foldable Oriental-style type of fan (for portability).  

For clothing, just shorts, tees and tank tops.  It is just as hot over in the east coast.  If you plan on doing a lot of walking, such as shopping & sight-seeing, bring a pair of comfortable sneakers.  Save the flip flops for the beach instead, they are killers on the feet at the end of the day.
