  1. be aware of pickpocters!!! buy a bag u can keep in front or tied to your waist otherwise if you have a bag pack u WILL be a victim of pickpocketing you won't even notice someone will be behind you slit the bottom of your bag and everything falls out..always keep your bag by your side..

  2. I suggest you try to keep a minimum to your luggage, so bring over only the things that are expensive or difficult to buy or very important to you over.  I think you can buy basic things like grooming tools there.

For walking shoes, any walking shoes are in style, because like the rest of the world, Spain looks toward America for "casual" fashion.

Sorry, can't really think of any other suggestions.

Hope you the best of luck with your travel and studies! Remember me when you graduate!

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot...like every place, there would be people who are ready to cheat tourists of their money.  Be extremely careful when purchasing things.

    Cheers.

  3. Bring exactly the same stuff that you would bring to anywhere in Europe.

Maybe you should reduce your winter clothes a little (although it's cold in Spain if it's winter - like anywhere else) and try not to be touristically obvious and look beyond flamenco, sangria, paella, siesta, etc.

    Thanks.
