I have one daughter who is two and have babysat friends and family children numerous times. I wanted to have food included in the price. I was planning on babysitting babies and toddlers because school children would be in school a majority of the day and I wouldn't get paid for them. I live in a small town. I am watching a max of 3 children.

  1. It depends. If you want to charge for the food, then you should. For example, if your babysitting is high quality, with naps, and toys, and food supplies, then you should charge more. But if it's just looking after a child, you should be more generous. Three children is a good number. It won't be too messy, and it won't be so lonely. So, about $6 dollars an hour for looking after a child is pretty on the hook. Or if it's including all sorts of things, you better calculate it yourself. How much food costs, how much toys cost, and how much labor you do. Good luck!

  2. i charge around 6 bucks and hour

  3. i used to babysit for a living for more than 1 year, i charged 6€ an hour when the family needed me for more than 20 hours per week. Food was of course included(the family bought it for the children and for me) and when the babies slept i didn't have to clean or tidy around. When a family needed me occasionally i charged 8€, when they wanted me to help with housework or their children to do their homework or teach a foreign language i charged 10 to 12€ per hour. It is not fair to get less, babysitting is a full responsibility job and if you explain the family that u will do it as a real job, not like a student job or weekend job, they will want to pay more to have a better service.
